Right-wing US commentator, Tucker Carlson, has announced that he has quit the Republican party.
Carlson has become well-known to the left for his opposition to Zionism, the racist political ideology of supporters of Israel.
Carlson’s naming of Israel’s genocide and of US collusion in it has infuriated an Israel lobby accustomed to slavish support from the right that is now crumbling.
Accordingly, in late 2025, one notorious lobby organisation named Carlson ‘Antisemite of the Year’.
But now, Carlson has announced he has de-registered as a Republican.
Many might consider it far too slow. He has clearly remained a member through almost three years of genocide, despite his opposition to it. But his reason is at least as simple as it is accurate: the Republicans, at least most of their political representatives, are not loyal to the US. It’s not hard to see where their purchased loyalty does lie.
Tucker Carlson, the slow cooker
Carlson’s awakening has been a long process, but it forms part of a widening phenomenon of US ‘America first’ right wingers turning on Israel — like Charlie Kirk — and its tools that has the colony in furious panic.
Carlson said he also has no time for the Democrats, presumably for wider reasons, but partly for the party’s shameful collaboration with genociders.
If only the UK right would wake up too. Instead, Israel flags still fly at every fascist rally because the UK extreme right loves the idea of an ethno-state, even though most hate Jews.
Meanwhile, the left and others who demand an end to racist slaughter, are painted as hate and criminalised as ‘terrorists’.
