On 30 April, during one of their regular raids on Shuafat Refugee Camp, North East of Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) assaulted Mehdi Al Arabi, a child with Down’s Syndrome.

15-year-old Mehdi ran away from the IOF, who then chased him:

He was detained for 15 minutes before being released.

Mohammad al Arabi was at the scene and tried to intervene, but was beaten and injured in the face by the occupation as he tried to protect his brother.

‘Israel’, as an occupying power, has clear legal obligations toward Palestinians with disabilities under international law, including the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. These obligations require the occupation to ensure protection and safety during military operations, access to essential services, and non‑discrimination for disabled Palestinians.

Indiscriminate attacks by the IOF have killed and injured disabled Palestinians who posed no security threat. Such attacks violate international humanitarian law obligations to protect civilians, especially those with limited mobility or communication barriers.

IDF – aka Israeli depraved forces continue to commit serial acts of cruelty and barbarism against innocent Palestinians because they can and because the western politicians don’t care! IDF the most depraved terrorist militia!

As the parent of a young person who has Down’s syndrome, I wrote to nearly all UK disabilities charities at the beginning of this latest episode of the ongoing genocide of Palestinians – at the end of 2023. I asked them: “what are you doing to oppose this genocide and speak up publicly on behalf of our disabled brothers and sisters in Palestine?” All but 2, failed to respond. And of the 2 that did, only 1 expressed deep sadness with what was hapening – but no offer to do as I ask (although they have since condemned the targeting of another of Israel’s learning-disabled victims, who they murdered). The other made it clear that they wholeheartedly disagreed with me. Their response made me want to throw up. The IOF are cowards, depraved sadists and riddled to the core, with the disease that is racism. Evil ghouls. May they rot in hell.

You are right, but thank Heavens for people like you who care and have the guts to challenge those in a position of influence who stand by.
