Reform’s chaotic collapse continues: Scottish candidate suspended over ‘financial conduct’

Nigel Farage‘s woes and Reform UK’s ongoing collapse continue. Just a week after bleating that his party’s tumbling polling figures were a misrepresentation, Reform has had to withdraw a Scottish parliamentary candidate over allegations about his financial conduct.

Farage’s finger-pointing was succinctly dismantled by leading electoral expert John Curtice. Curtice looked at all polling and concluded that there is “no doubt” about the reality of Reform’s falling popularity:

There is no doubt Reform support is down. The average across 10 pollsters this month is 27, which is down two points on February. So far as I can see, [they are] finding it more difficult to pick up support from everyone.

And now, Reform has been forced to suspend Dundee City West candidate Stuart Niven. Worse, this came only a day after it announced its candidates for May’s Holyrood elections. The press reported that Niven had been disqualified as a company director for diverting diverting thousands of pounds from a taxpayer-funded Covid loan into his personal account.

Hilariously, Reform’s Scottish head Malcolm Offord just boasted to the BBC’s Radio Scotland about how much time the party had spent vetting candidates and claimed all they had found was instances of candidates saying “something fruity in the past”.

The day before, the Canary’s Antifabot wrote about Reform’s polling direction that:

The maths doesn’t lie though. The UK isn’t just ignoring [Farage], it is actively pulling away from his toxic politics.

They described this “brick wall” as “fucking beautiful”. The Scottish news just made it even a little more so.

Good, hopefully the fall off continues for NF and reform and I hope Paul Marshall support realises that pumping over £140 million into K-GBnews TV channel to boost NF and reform is also a misadventure no longer feasible and stop his despicable right wing stance to brainwash the UK public. £140 million could of done so much for charities and other organisations that desperately need that sort of money.
