Four vessels of the flotilla of almost fifty volunteer humanitarian boats are still free and moving toward Gaza after a night of Israeli attacks in international waters. One of the boats is within an hour of the coast, but has been stationary for an hour now and has probably been attacked and boarded:

The Rachel Corrie, named after an American activist murdered by Israel in 2003, has just entered Gaza’s territorial waters.

The world as we used to know it, one where politicians stood up for the international laws suffered a catastrophic blow in 2003 and has now disappeared below the waves.
bit more here on Gaza’s prospective new leader (that’s our very own Mr Blair) …

If the US the UK and others were serious about having an international temporary government in Gaza, that the Palestinians would be willing to co-operate with, Trump and Blair shouldn’t be involved.
Firstly, Israel cannot remain in Gaza as responsible for Gaza’s security but, rather Israel needs to withdraw completely and and international military force be placed in charge of providing security for Gaza.
In terms of whom should by part of a civilian international government to start the reconstruction of Gaza, Lopez Obrador (AMLO), Evo Morales, Julius Malema and similar politicians should have been involved in the project alongside US favourites to ensure balance.
The 21 point plan is just a cynical attempt by the US, the UK and other western countries, to carry on with the settler colonialist project that is Israel, now that some of them have recognise the Palestinian State.
However, Yvette Cooper failed to define the borders of the State of Palestine and perhaps more importantly insisted:
– The State of Palestine would not have the right of having a national army or national air force.
– Hamas cannot participate in elections. Shouldn’t be the Palestinians the ones deciding who to elect as their representatives in a democratically run election?
Thus, basically the recognition of Palestine is just a cosmetic exercise, as straight away Starmer lost no time to congratulate Trump on its 21 peace plan.
