Peterborough mosque targeted in far-right hate attack — Starmer stays silent

A man forced his way into the Peterborough mosque on Alma Road (Masjid Darassalaam) on Friday, shouting praise for fascist ‘Tommy Robinson‘ and hurling anti-Muslim abuse at worshippers preparing for morning prayers.

Police were called and arrested a 57-year-old man from the city, with the assistance of three mosque-goers, on suspicion of a racially aggravated offence. He later tried to assault a female police officer, adding a public order offence to his charges. He remains in custody.

Police have promised an “increased police presence near mosques in the city in the coming days as reassurance,” but sent only a single female police officer to deal with the far-right intruder:

But Keir Starmer has not even mentioned the incident. No mention of racist invasion from politicians who attack peaceful anti-genocide protest as ‘hate.’ And with the exception of a short article on the BBC News website, most of the so-called ‘mainstream’ media have ignored it too.

The silence stands in stark contrast to the reaction that would have followed if the Peterborough mosque had been on a pro-Israel synagogue.
Starmer’s government is not merely silent, however. It has scrapped a parliamentary definition of Islamophobia, while ordering NHS trusts to weaponise supposed ‘antisemitism’ — protecting Israel and punishing expressions of solidarity with the Palestinian people against genocide.
