Michael Gove freaks out when confronted at the Spectator awards

Palestine Pulse has posted a video from last night’s Spectator awards. In the video, the man behind the camera goes from being a spectator himself to an active participant when he gets into it with Michael Gove:

A post shared by Palestine Pulse 🇵🇸 (@pal_pulse)

It’s a big party, and you’re not invited

In their post, Palestine Pulse said:

MP’s Secret dinner spotted in Central London 👀

Prominent Members of Parliament from the Reform, Conservative, AND the Labour Party — including Richard Tice, Rupert Lowe, Suella Braverman, Gavin Williamson and Michael Gove — were seen entering a private restaurant event together. They invited journalists such as Julia Hartley-Brewer, Rachel Johnson (Boris Johnson’s sister), and other GB news journalists.

When activists confronted them about this or Gaza, not one had a word to say.
Michael Gove even stepped in to shield his guests from questions.

🤯 Reform and Conservative leaders — dining and in bed together in silence?
What’s really going on behind closed doors? 👀

While Palestine Pulse described it as a ‘secret meeting’, it was seemingly a Spectator shindig, as highlighted by this post from Julia Hartley-Brewer:

Hi @ZackPolanski, it was an honour to accept an award on your behalf at the @spectator Parliamentarian of the Year Awards last night.

Everyone agreed I was the obvious choice to stand in for the Green Party leader. 😉

Do let me know when you want to pick it up. pic.twitter.com/cjJ0twpmub

We imagine this is some sort of joke – presumably because Polanski isn’t a member of parliament? Very funny if so, we probably wouldn’t be joking about who is or isn’t an MP given the trajectory the Tories are on:

🚨 Estimated seat totals:

➡️ REF – 372 (+367)
🟠 LD – 88 (+16)
🔴 LAB – 48 (-363)
🟡 SNP – 46 (+37)
🔵 CON – 29 (-92)
🟢 GRN – 25 (+21)
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 PLAID – 7 (+3)

In another video Palestine Pulse shared with us, we spotted John Woodcock (a.k.a. lord Walney). Woodcock was a Labour MP, before he left in less than honourable circumstances, and he now spends his days calling for the government to crack down on protesters he doesn’t like. He’s also a big Israel supporter too, which probably won’t surprise you if you’ve followed how that nation cracks down on people it doesn’t like. Israeli donors have rewarded Woodcock handsomely over the years, although we’re sure that has nothing to do with his ongoing support.

In the video at the top, the activist behind the camera shouts the following at Reform MP Richard Tice:

Shame on you, you Zionist slave. You put Zionists before Britain.

Inside the building, the activist is arguing with Rupert Lowe – the MP who Reform gave the boot earlier this year:

Just before the local elections, on April 24th, Farage stated Reform would announce their illegal migrant mass deportation policy in ‘three to four weeks’ time.

I have one simple question, @Nigel_Farage.

It’s almost July – where is it?

Unserious, unprofessional, untrustworthy. pic.twitter.com/tD5OYSTrgJ

— Rupert Lowe MP (@RupertLowe10) June 27, 2025

Michael Gove confronted over Gaza silence — and runs for cover

Once he’s done with Lowe, the activist gets into it with a panicked Michael Gove, asking:

What are you doing with the Reform Party? You’re in the Conservative Party. What are you doing with the Reform Party?

Gove responds:

Please don’t disturb our guests.

Gove says ‘our guests’ because he’s the Spectator editor in addition to being a sitting lord. In some countries it would be weird for an active politician to be an active media figure, but not in Great Britain.

Cool, huh?

Back to the video, the situation grew increasingly contentious as time went on, with Gove touching the activist’s phone, and the activist advising him that this was not a wise course of action. Realising this was correct, Gove flapped off to complain to a member of staff. As he did so, the activist said:

Why [do you unconditionally] support Zionists and Israel’s war against the Palestinians?

…

So you can’t answer questions? You’re scared, you’re going to run away again? You don’t have a minute to answer a question about the biggest problem in the world?

All right on the night

The Spectator bash featured Tories, Reform MPs, ex-Reform MPs, and ex-Labour MPs – almost as if these people all share an identical ethos.

That aside, congratulations to Zack Polanski for winning the ‘Rent Free Award’, because he’s clearly living in these peoples’ heads.
