Zack Polanski and the Greens are already eyeing up Starmer’s seat

With the Green Party surging in the polls, they could win numerous seats currently held by Labour. This is now doubly alarming for Keir Starmer, because one of the seats they’ve set their sights on is his own:

Let’s make this happen. Together.https://t.co/ms1EL1Giai

The Green Party: storming Starmer

Green Elects is an account which collates data on global Green parties. This week, they highlighted a poll which showed the Green Party had surpassed Labour in one poll:

🚨 NEW | Greens hit 2nd place for first time EVER!

Speaking on this, James Wright wrote for the Canary:

16% is Labour’s lowest ever rating and should surely be a resigning matter for Keir Starmer. If the party had a left-wing leader, the corporate media and parliamentary Labour party (PLP) would be howling for their downfall.

But any hope of Labour becoming a progressive party again is largely lost. That’s because Starmer changed the rules for leadership elections to ensure that no one from the left can get on the ballot box.

At this point, it would be better for the Greens if Starmer stayed in power. As Green Elects highlighted, his very own seat is among those they could realistically take in 2029:

Based on using Electoral Calculus election predictor, the Greens would gain 47 seats (total 51):

🟢 Barking (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Birkenhead (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Brent East (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Brighton Kemptpwn and Peacehaven (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Bristol East (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Bristol North East (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Bristol North West (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Bristol South (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Cambridge (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Cardiff South and Penarth (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Ealing Central and Acton (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Ealing North (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Ealing Southall (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Edmonton and Winchmore Hill (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Gorton and Denton (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Hackney North and Stoke Newington (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Hackney South and Shoreditch (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Hampstead and Highgate (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Harrow West (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Holborn and St Pancras (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Huddersfield (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Islington South and Finsbury (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Leeds Central and Headingley (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Leeds North East (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Leeds South (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Leicester East (Gain from Con)
🟢 Lewisham North (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Leyton and Wanstead (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Liverpool Riverside (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Liverpool Wavertree (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Luton North (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Manchester Central (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Manchester Rusholme (Gain from Lab)

🟢 Norwich South (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Nottingham East (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Oxford East (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Poplar and Limehouse (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Sheffield Central (Gain from Lab)

🟢 Southgate and Wood Green (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Stratford and Bow (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Tottenham (Gain from Lab)
🟢 Walthamstow (Gain from Lab)
🟢 West Ham and Beckton (Gain from Lab)

Of course, neither the Green Party nor Polanski are saying they hope Starmer remains. Like everyone else, they can see the damage he’s doing, and they’re leaving that sort of cynical politicking to the Labour Party.

Speaking of the damage Starmer has done, the key reason why the Greens are doing so well is because they’re calling out his “bullshit”:

“Let’s call it for what it is: bullshit. The truth is, politicians have talked about little else but immigration for decades and in the most dehumanising ways.

Polanski added: “Stop the boats’ is all we hear. Well, today I’m saying ‘stop the bullshit’.”https://t.co/Noz6FgAtgz

Glad to hear Keir Starmer is finally making the right decision to attend climate talks.

Now let’s talk about taxing wealth. pic.twitter.com/4ya8Na7vWB

When Starmer says it’s “Labour or Farage,” remember: you don’t have to choose between fascism and billions on weapons that destroy lives, create tiny amounts of jobs, and enrich those in the Epstein files.

Path to victory

We’re going to say something here the Green Party won’t like.

We don’t think they’re going to take Starmer’s seat in the next election.

Realistically, we think he’ll be forced out before that, and he’ll respond by spitting his dummy out and fucking off to the private sector.

At the same time, we do think they’ll take Holborn and St Pancras.

Labour hold the seat now, but there is no such thing as a ‘Labour seat’, and voters finally feel like they have a choice.

Has Andrew Feinstein joined The Green Party, then?

Last year, standing as an Independent candidate, Andrew Feinstein, virtually, halved Starmer’s majority, in Holborn & St Pancras, from a standing start.

Are The Greens, now, going to forget that phenomenal effort in their pursuit of ‘power and glory’? What happened to – ‘standing aside, for a candidate with a better chance of taking a seat’, no matter where?

Personally, I think The Greens need to dial back on their (over)enthusiasm and hyperbole.

There’s a long way to go, yet. Don’t start pissing people off, this early.

Now Feinstein is a victim of Your Party infighting he may join the Greens, which would be good for both

Or, he may elect to stand as an Independent, again. Only Andrew Feinstein knows what he’s going to do. What are The Greens going to do if he does stand, as a whatever Candidate?

As I said previously, The Greens need to dial back on their overenthusiastic rhetoric, for the time being.
