A group of ‘Defend our Juries’ activists has been thrown out of their own trial for refusing to comply with orders from the bench. The group declined to obey the judge’s order to simply plead guilty or not guilty. Members of the public were also kicked out of the proceedings.

Defend Our Juries: yet more madness from the state

The defendants are among thousands of people, mostly pensioners or disabled, arrested for peacefully opposing the proscription of the anti-genocide protest group Palestine Action. The ‘terror’ arrests and prosecutions are part of the Starmer regime’s ‘lawfare’ war against journalism, free speech and protest on Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

After their eviction, some of the Defend Our Juries defendants thrown out spoke about the prosecutions and the day’s events:

NON-COMPLIANCE IN COURT

Today, many defendants were evicted from Westminster Magistrates court after refusing to participate in the government’s attack on our freedoms.

Two defendants gave their account at lunchtime (video), others were forcibly removed later in the day.

One, Carol – from Starmer’s constituency – read out the statement she had made in court, including examples of the victims of Israel’s slaughter of innocents. She also called out the hypocrisy of foreign secretary Yvette Cooper, who as then-home secretary created a web of lies to push through the ‘proscription’ of Palestine Action:

Carol, a retired teacher from Camden, read the statement for which she was evicted from today’s terrorism hearing.

She calls out the hypocrisy of Yvette Cooper’s recent comments in support of peaceful protest, and draws comparisons with the @Prisoners4Pal hunger strikers.

Under Starmer and his squad of Zionist cronies, Britain is a vassal state to the US and Israel. They are destroying the rights of the British people to protect those vested interests. This is repeatedly clear – but not least from the appalling treatment of the Defend Our Juries defendants in court.
