Trump tries to extort even his fake Gaza ‘board of peace’

Donald Trump has demanded a joining fee of $1bn from any country that wants to be represented on the imperial occupation council he wants to set up to run (down) Gaza — misleadingly termed the ‘board of peace’. It is yet another example of his attempt to extort even supposed ‘allies’.

Trump would personally control the cash, according to a draft charter provided to news outlet Bloomberg. Even Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly rejected the demand, along with several of the nations criminal enough to want to be involved.

Trump appears to be trying to become a one-man rival to the UN. $1bn would buy a nation a single vote, with decisions supposedly by a simple majority — but with Trump, as chair, always having the deciding vote regardless, according to Bloomberg.

The White House’s official ‘rapid response’ account has confirmed the fee, while trying to dismiss concerns:

wait lmao the white house account is officially confirming trump asked countries to pay him a billion dollars to become a ‘permanent member’ of his fake UN? https://t.co/A0eNC7MzbF

Trump’s greed and ambition looks set to sink his foul plan. Let’s hope so — but either way the cowardice of governments means the people of Gaza continue to starve, freeze and die under Israel’s criminal blockade and ceaseless bombing.
