Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, is back doing what he does best – smearing left-wing leaders.

After his baseless attacks on Jeremy Corbyn, he’s now set his sights on Zack Polanski.

Dearlove described Polanski’s view of geopolitics as “verging on the absurd, this man is really dangerous” and a potential far-left alliance involving parties like Your Party and the Greens as “a very dangerous prospect for the UK’s national security.”

He also mocked Polanski’s suggestion of military alliances with other countries, particularly the idea of partnering with Global South nations like Mexico and Brazil.

He also was surprised that the Greens’ campaign in Gorton and Denton could “attract attention”. Additionally, he was surprised that it was designed to capture the muslim vote.”

Deja vu

Reactions on social media to Dearlove was one of deja vu!

Dearlove used similar words to describe Corbyn in November 2019, just a month before the December 2019 General Election, which led to a Tory victory with Boris Johnson as the PM.

Dealove previously wrote in the Daily Mail that

Corbyn as Prime Minister, together with his current advisers, could be a present danger to our country.

Do not even think of taking the risk of handing this politician the keys to No 10.

The soft-spoken, apparently gentle old man who is promising voters the world may not be quite as he now wishes to present himself.

If anyone is a threat, it is Dearlove

Craig Murray criticised the former intelligence head, as a man with the blood of millions on his hands.

The lies he told about Iraqi WMDs will not be easily forgotten.

Matt Kennard called Dearlove a “clown” who, as head of MI6, helped get Putin elected in 2000 at Russia’s bidding, played a key role in the illegal Iraq invasion, then cashed out at oil company Kosmos Energy.

Kennard documented this at Declassified UK. He revealed how Dearlove and fellow spy chiefs profited from the very threats they promoted while in office.

Tony Greenstein noted that the same intelligence service employed Salman Abedi, who was sent to Libya to fight with jihadists before bombing the Manchester Arena. He said NATO is “not our friend” but “a cause of war.” In addition, he called the US the main threat to freedom with its posturing against Canada and Greenland.

Chris Nieham has previously written in Counterfire about Dearlove.

The former head of M16 was a close associate of Blair and Alistair Campbell during the Iraq War and was one of two security service heads responsible for the ‘dodgy dossier’ which was used as the main justification for the Iraq War, the biggest disaster in British foreign policy for fifty years or more.

The dossier was heavily criticised in the Chilcot report and is widely believed to have been the worst mistake made by the UK intelligence community in the post-1945 era.

So does the man who sold us the lies for war have any right to lecture anyone on who is “dangerous?”

Perhaps Dearlove is senile. I am not interested in him per se. He is a silly individual apparently barking at clouds. Sad but I cannot help him.

Let’s focus on our ‘security services’. MI6, or any of the alphabet soup, are loyal to the Crown and that part of the state which serves the Crown. They began as military organisations and remain essentially militarised even when supposedly part of civil services or police. They serve the elite. They serve the Windsors. They served and protected Andrew – and the Epstein papers have shone some light on what they were prepared to do in that service.

These ‘security services’ do not protect us citizens from harm, they do not defend our nation from harm, they do not protect our democracy or uphold the rule of law or uphold our human rights. These people are not serving us, but our taxes fund them.

We know they collude with foreign states in commiting serious crimes, not least genocide, not least in Palestine. They have assisted every one of Trump’s illegal attacks on peaceful neighbours – were involved in Venezuela and are involved in the current action against Iran. We know they work closely with the Israeli military. We assume British government defends Elbit at behest of Netanyahu government but I suspect much pressure comes from our own secret services acting as allies of Netanyahu. They advised Home Secretary to label Palestine Action a terrorist organisation. They are pushing the envelope – restricting our rights in the interests of a rogue state to which they owe more loyalty than to us.

We know the ‘security services’ commit serious crimes against our fellow citizens – sending agents to infiltrate and disrupt legal, non-violent, civilian activities whether political parties, trade unions, protest groups, religious communities or hunt saboteurs. They use every kind of ‘Black Op’ against innocent people they have targeted as a ‘threat’ to their fantasy Blighty centred on the Crown and the loyal subjects of the Crown. They are a parasite on Britain. We deserve better.

We need security services to defend our country from threats. We need a security service focused on us, ordinary people, not the Crown. We need security services which swear oaths of loyalty to our democracy and are committed to upholding democracy, rule of law, and human rights not the bundle of undeserved privilege, criminality, and psychopathologies which is the Crown and its sychophants. We need to get rid of these enemies within and found new services which are fit-for-purpose.

We need to do this urgently because the world order is shifting rapidly and we have to be able to protect ourselves in a world suddenly far more unpredictable and lethally dangerous than it has been in decades. MI6 and its co-loons are incapable of helping us, they are not even trying. They have already capitulated to fascism and authoritarianism and want to destroy our democracy from within. They are chained to the old order, to the ‘special relationship’ with the USA, to ‘Cold War’ and ‘War on Terror’ prejudices. They cannot even imagine building new alliances with Europe or emerging states. They cannot imagine a post-NATO security policy able to protect us from Russian or US aggression. They cannot disentangle us from imperial era ties to places like Israel.

Their ignorance, stupidity, blindness, fawning slavish devotion to old elites and their inability to even recognise the existential threats inherent in unregulated capitalism and global oligarchy all adds up to a toxic inadequacy to face the world as it is or help steer us towards a world as we want it to be. They are floundering about, have no real plan except trying to keep us living in their romanticised past, all they still have is malice and it is directed not at our true enemies and threats but at us, the ‘ordinary’ people of Britain. They are waging a secret war on us. They must not win. And the first strike back in defence of democracy is to shine a light on these dangerous psychos and begin to ask who the hell are these people and why do we gift them so much power?
