Ahead of the local elections on Thursday 7 May, the Green Party is reminding supporters of ways they can help boost the vote.

Manchester Greens have shared a sign-up page for anyone who wants to help on polling day. And they’ve stressed the difference it can make:

JUST RELEASED: Data has come out showing it’s on us to make sure Green voters turn out.

With hundreds of seats in the balance, making sure Green voters go and vote will be the difference between record Green wins tomorrow or not.

Even a couple of hours helping to remind Green supporters to vote can make a huge difference. We know that strong polling day efforts boost results by around 10%.

Let’s fight back against Reform and elect a record number of Greens tomorrow!

They’re asking for volunteers to remind voters to get to the polling station. And anyone who can offer lifts will be very helpful. They also need folk who can be ‘polling station greeters’. Parties can’t campaign outside polling stations but they can have a presence, as long as it isn’t intimidating:

By smiling and saying ‘hello’ you could make all the difference! You’ll be given more guidance on the day, particularly about what we are legally allowed and not allowed to do outside polling stations.

South Norfolk Green Party has set up a similar sign-up page. And, if there are elections where you live and you want to lend a hand, it’s certainly worth a quick google to see what’s going on.
