Watch: Israeli settlers try to purge West Bank’s last all-Christian town

Israeli settlers have escalated their harassment and violence to try to drive out the residents of Taybeh, the last remaining all-Christian town in the occupied West Bank. Guarded by IOF troops, the settlers are constantly attempting to intimidate and purge the rightful owners of the land:

Al Jazeera’s latest footage has been released against a background of openly racist and genocidal incitement from the Israeli general in charge of occupying the West Bank. Leaked comments show Maj Gen Avi Bluth telling his soldiers to “shoot Palestinians, not settlers”. Bluth also boasting of how many his men murdered last year, commenting that his forces are:

killing like we haven’t killed since 1967.

While Bluth’s ‘men’ murder, the settlers they are protecting have been destroying Taybeh’s buildings and vital infrastructure for months, including historic landmarks:

Around a dozen majority-Christian villages cling on in the West Bank. Like their Muslim neighbours, they constantly under physical and administrative attack by the occupation. Yet the so-called ‘Christians’ of the US and some other western nations continue to support the oppressor against people who are supposed to be their spiritual brothers and sisters.
