Corona diary part 1: One man, two gloves
The PPE gloves are off and our new guest contributor Ellis Howard ain’t pulling his punches.
We know everyone is suffering under the Tories - but the Canary is a vital weapon in our fight back, and we need your support
The Canary Workers’ Co-op knows life is hard. The Tories are waging a class war against us we’re all having to fight. But like trade unions and community organising, truly independent working-class media is a vital weapon in our armoury.
The Canary doesn’t have the budget of the corporate media. In fact, our income is over 1,000 times less than the Guardian’s. What we do have is a radical agenda that disrupts power and amplifies marginalised communities. But we can only do this with our readers’ support.
So please, help us continue to spread messages of resistance and hope. Even the smallest donation would mean the world to us.

Oh what an absolutely brilliant video, I really really wish I could talk like that and stand up and try to do something. I’m a member of the Canary and proud of it. Our MSM has become so right wing that it decides who will win elections by constantly telling lies about people like Corbyn. I am ashamed of them.
Fabulous! And, with a proper English accent with expressive mischievous visage wonderfully and theatrically delivered to compliment his prose. Thank you Ellis. You’ll go far! – Gosh! You darned well have already!!!
Except – Southern folk need an explanation to your explicit prose line starting at 1:03 of the video. Is there some hidden Northern manner of expression we need to be less alarmed about?
As they say “out of the mouths of the young”, we should feel ashamed of letting not only the poorer in society down and those who live in deprived areas of our nation, but also the young, those who have sown hatred and greed to divide the people will someday reap the whirlwind of their actions.
