When Muslim men are murdered, the reaction is institutional indifference

Abdul Wali Mamozai, a Muslim man, was murdered in Bracknell on 27 April, a few days before a mentally ill man wounded two Jewish people — and one Muslim man — in London.

When the latter attack took place, the media went into a frenzy. The Muslim victim was airbrushed out to a footnote at best. The government and ‘opposition’ condemned the “antisemitic” attack, immediately announcing special measures and huge amounts of extra funding for security for the Jewish community.

They also deleted the Muslim victim. They deleted the mental illness of the attacker and used the attack to target marches against Israel’s murder of Palestinians for even greater restrictions — marches to which the attacker had no connection.

The Met Police has also ignored the Muslim victim. Its commissioner Mark Rowley attacked Green leader, Zack Polanski, for daring to condemn the wanton brutality of the police officers who continued to kick the attacker in the head long after he was incapacitated. Rowley lied that Palestine marches target synagogues and called for a special armed police force to protect Jews.

Muslim men deleted from mainstream media coverage

When Abdul Wali Mamozai was murdered, local media carried a note about a man being killed. His religion and ethnicity were not mentioned. ‘Mainstream’ press and broadcasters ignored his death. Thames Valley Police “urged people not to speculate about the details of the case or circulate inaccurate information”.

Det Supt Kevin Brown added:

We are continuing to investigate the circumstances around Mr Mamozai’s death to fully understand the events that have led to this sad loss of life.

His alleged murderers were quickly granted bail. There was no politico-media outcry about that either.

A month earlier, 18-year-old Zeshan Afzal was fatally stabbed outside a West Midlands mosque. Two other Muslim men were wounded. Nine people were charged with his murder.

His alleged killers have not yet been named, but there has been no political or media outcry. There has been no condemnation of, or even speculation about the murder of a Muslim man by an apparent mob.

The non-responses of media and politicians to Mamozai’s and Afzal’s murders were not exceptions. In March, a visibly Muslim woman was deliberately and horrifically mowed down in London by a car that swerved to make sure it struck her. ‘Mainstream’ media coverage was and remains almost non-existent.

Religious hate crime statistics

Islamophobic attacks vastly outnumbered antisemitic incidents during the year ending March 2025. Home Office data* also indicated they have risen while antisemitic incidents fell during the same period — even though pro-Israel groups count the mere waving of a Palestine flag as a hate incident. This cannot be discerned from the media or political discourse.

A Sikh woman was raped because her attacker thought she was a Muslim. That got some coverage but little furore. Fifty mosques were attacked in a five-month period in 2025. Independent left media covered it, but there was barely a murmur in the ‘msm’.

Yet pro-Israel groups are complaining that anti-racist groups don’t pay enough attention to attacks on Jewish people. Campaigner Natasha Devon, no doubt to the consternation of Sky News, gave a good response to that sense of privilege and entitlement.

Zionism is racism. The UK is a rigged, racist state. Violence against anyone is abhorrent regardless of religion, but Muslims and Black people suffer far worse than others in the UK. The government’s agenda and narrative don’t withstand even a moment’s scrutiny, yet that scrutiny is absent in UK media.

Except for this morning on Sky. Don’t hold your breath for Natasha Devon to be invited back on.

*Home Office data excludes the MPS [Met Police Service] who recorded 40% of all religious hate crimes targeted at Jewish people in the last year.

I agree with the conclusion but what is the cause? Why do wholly anti religious independent newspapers like the Guardian and the Independent ignore or practically ignore the plight of Moslems in the UK? They do attack the governments threat to ban Pro Palestinian marches but not on the ground that they are unrelated to antisemitism. We hear a former Israeli minister say properly that he was ashamed to be Jewish, at least demonstrating the widespread assimilation of Israelis to Jews yet in this country a similar statement would be caracterised as traditional antisemitism

I can see no end to this. The hate me and my husband get online is ridiculous. He is North African and looks more like a black man. Hes actually been with muslim friends who have had verbal hate thrown at them and the guy said to my husband “Not you mate, its them”. We had kids smashing windows shouting “P..i” during the riots. I dont recognize my country anymore. If I wasn’t ill I would happily go to Morocco.

Maybe that all tells a story? We actually don’t want the hate religion in our country, most of us have had enough!
I’m not condoning the attacks on anyone, but most of us feel we are being invaded by illiegals, mostly young Muslim men with primitive beliefs, especially towards our women and girls, all of fighting age.
They are from unknown backgrounds and without doubt some are criminals and or terrorists who hate the West and will never assimilate.
We want them sent back to their country, where they can practice their so called religion and continue to abuse their own women.

You do condone the violence. And you also don’t realise how indoctrinated you are by so called “influencers”. I see the same rhetoric from people like you, word for word all over social media almost like you don’t have your own mind. Now, a little exercise. Swap the word “Muslim” for the word “Jew”. See what it feels/sounds like. Anyone can find statistics for their own argument about every single group of people, including white men that can paint you as a group a certain way I.e 87% of child sex abuse offenders in the uk are white English men.

Screw Islam and all it stands for. It’s a “religion” of hate and homophobia.

You should have just put “I am a racist pig” instead of using approximately 97 unnecessary extra words to get your message across 🙄

You can’t be “racists” against a made up violent fairy tale of a “religion” like Islam, but if that’s what you wanna call it, sure. I feel no shame. Call me racist, call me late for dinner. I don’t care.
They have no valid right to be upset and they can’t be victims no matter what they try and say after all the crap they’ve pulled and all the people they’ve hurt in the name of their putrified rotten faith.

There are serious problems in Morocco. Violent protests and marches against the authorities. And resentment against immigrants in some areas.

These cases have all been Muslim on Muslim crime. There was an outcry about the Golders Green attack because it was terrorism. You people need to stop playing the victim when you’re always the perpetrators. There hasn’t been an Islamophobic murder in years.
