The BBC’s Radio 4 Today programme interviewed expert human rights lawyer and UN official Chris Sidoti this morning about the UN’s declaration that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. As so often the broadcaster showed appalling bias, regurgitating Israeli talking points and asking Sidoti whether the UN is a ‘Hamas proxy’ and ‘openly antisemitic’.

BBC Radio 4 Today asking all the wrong questions of the UN

Sidoti’s response was blunt, dismissing Israel’s propaganda as lazy ‘garbage’ generated by AI platform ChatGPT worthy only of contempt. It was an object lesson in how to treat such nonsense – one that some political leaders could learn from:

Israel: “Disregard the truth of what you can see with your own eyes and ears, because your eyes and ears must be antisemitic. Believe the unbelievable utter garbage we put out, even though our leaders have been open about supporting and committing genocide. I mean … take Harzog for instance, how can you accuse him of genocide when your own leader has him over for a cuppa and cucumber sandwiches…..”

Another two to three years for the ICJ to arrive at the authoritative decision?

The Palestinian people – regarded as Amalek to be exterminated – will be extinct by that time.

    Then what?

A collective ‘we told you so’? A shrug of the shoulders, nothing more to be done as Western billionaires and their bought and paid for politicians sun themselves in luxury condos on the Gaza beaches whilst the Zionist fanatics both in Israel and on both sides of the Atlantic expand into Lebanon, Jordon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt doing the same to those populations?

Words, slogans and judgements are worthless in the absence of timely practical action to stop these criminals in the same way the criminals with the same warped mindset were stopped in Europe in the 1940’s.

I thought the BBC claimed that it went for balance. I kept listening for it but all I heard was Israeli state propaganda. Not surprising after their ‘work’ during the last two years. When Israel has turned Gaza into a wasteland,, tortured and raped its hostages, starved its children and bombed country after country in the Middle East the BBC has been pathetic. Truth should be what matters but to the BBC it’s lost in this mythical ‘balance’.
