A retired UK major-general has publicly the Starmer government’s hypocrisy and lawlessness on Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Charlie Herbert has previously described Israel’s conduct in Gaza as “indiscriminate, disproportionate and murderous”.

Charlie Herbert speaks out

Now, talking to journalist Matt Kennard, he has said the UK and other western governments have “dismantled” post-war institutions by backing Israel in Gaza, particularly to protect war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu. And he demanded to know how the UK dare criticise Russia over Ukraine when “we are so actively supporting what Israel is doing in Gaza”:

Charlie Herbert concluded that the UK’s, and other governments’, refusal to take the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrants against Netanyahu seriously has discredited even that Court.

Dismantle? Those laws were always meant to shore up Western hegemony, not to prosecute Western criminals. The Nuremberg trials showed the double standard on which international laws were written: how many Allied leaders such as Churchill, Stalin or Truman were tried for their atrocities?

Herbert is a chinless wonder and not worth the bandwidth. The Gazan Arabs are the problem here and always have been.

In what way are “Gazan Arabs the problem” but not the Zionists happily murdering them in order to steal their land?
