On 20 February, we reported that a GB News employee accused Reform’s Matt Goodwin of sexual harassment. In response, Goodwin turned his comments off on Twitter/X.

Now his comments are back on, you can see why he turned them off:

What was it you were saying about personal attacks?

How about telling us about your policies?

Matt Goodwin — The allegations

As Skwawkbox reported for the Canary on 20 February:

Reform parachuted-in Gorton and Denton candidate Matthew Goodwin has been accused by a female GB News staffer of sexually harassing her. And Reform boss Nigel Farage is thought to have known about the allegation before he named Goodwin as the party’s candidate in the by-election.

This has created a problem for Reform, because they’re trying to paint themselves as a party that stands against abusers:

So does Reform. https://t.co/nvxBLmUP6K pic.twitter.com/LMdrfdUKWJ

The idea that Reform or Farage stand against abusers has always been a nonsense. As we reported, survivors of grooming gangs demanded an apology from Farage after he smeared them as being the wrong sort of victims. We additionally reported on his ties to a sexual abuser, a rapist, and an alleged human trafficker.

Providing more details on Goodwin’s case, Skwawkbox reported:

The junior TV staffer complained to the channel’s HR department that Goodwin had made inappropriate comments, including on her appearance. The victim of the alleged harassment was deeply disturbed by it, with a colleague saying that:

“She was very upset at the time, and her colleagues were upset on her behalf that she was so distressed by the situation.”

Reform dismissed the revelations as a “desperate, last-minute smear” by the Guardian. Goodwin is said to have denied the allegations, while his lawyers admitted the complaint was made

Goodwin clearly panicked after all this came out, which is why he turned his replies off. Now they’re back on, the criticisms are flooding in:

That is a lie

Reports from Good Law Project and Direkt36 indicate Matt Goodwin was a visiting fellow at Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), funded by Hungary's government under Viktor Orbán, with fellows paid €5k-€10k/month. MCC has indirect ties to Russian oil profits via MOL. Reform UK…

One person noted the following:

When did she claim to be “struggling”? Being working class doesn’t mean a life of drudgery and misery. Most plumbers earn good money; and so they should.

— fen (@usernamefen) February 21, 2026

And Zoe Gardner added all this:

Reform’s Matt Goodwin’s having an absolute mare this week:

😬Accused of sexual harassment
🤑Apparently receiving a dodgy £10k/month salary from Russia
🫤Now it emerges his numbers just didn’t add up in his academic position at a right wing think tank… https://t.co/k0oxqkJUpJ

— Zoe Gardner (@ZoeJardiniere) February 21, 2026

The Russian money is probably most concerning.

Given the potential for reputational damage there, you know he would be threatening to sue the place down if it wasn’t true but I must’ve missed it if he has?
I assume @hopenothate did their due diligence.

Overall, the man stinks.

— Zoe Gardner (@ZoeJardiniere) February 21, 2026

People also pointed out that Goodwin — a longtime establishment insider — is a flashboy Alan Patridge-a-like:

Says the man who owns a £900,000 house in Hertfordshire, drives a Lamborghini and takes €10,000 a month from a far-right pressure group linked to Orban in Hungary. Talk about glass houses… pic.twitter.com/av66I1uZlK

Desperate

We should actually say something about Goodwin’s tweet at the top while we’re here. Reading between the lines, you’ll note Goodwin and the Daily Mail are attacking the Green’s Hannah Spencer for owning property and going on holiday.

This article goes out of its way to distract you from the fact that Spencer is no longer with the rich partner it talks about, and as far as I can tell doesn't produce any evidence of her going on holiday more recently than 2018 https://t.co/rIDAHZCPJx

— RopesToInfinity (@RopesToInfinity) February 21, 2026

People can have whatever opinions they like on all this, but clearly Reform don’t have much to attack her with if that’s what they’ve gone with.

Oh, and lest we forget, Matt Goodwin is the guy who vowed to fight a positive campaign until the shit hit the fan:

Chinny rack-on. pic.twitter.com/sebKcseBhn

There’s a lot of shit too; good job the Green Party have sent in a plumber.

    Who is writing his X?
    last two paragraphs
“I’ve been coming in and out of London since 1981″
I simply cannot remember a time when it’s been this visibly dire and when so many things just do not work as they should”
    Since 1981 ? He was born in 1981 !

An insane statistic from the UK:
If you are a “high earner” on £100,000 – £125,000, you only get to keep £38 of every £100 you earn
      -The Telegraph
This is true but for the £25,000 you earn over £100, 000 because your personal allowance reduces.
Coincidentally the article he quotes, explains how to avoid this extra tax.

      https://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/tax/income/how-avoid-100k-salary-trap-dodge-60pc-tax/

Also most people who earn over £100, 000 reduce their taxable income by various legal means.
