Cameron Baillie

Cameron Baillie is an award-winning journalist, videographer and editor with The Canary and other publications. His work is published across The BMJ NewsMondoweissNew InternationalistThe MillRed Pepper, Prospect, Novara Media, The Canary, the Orwell Foundation and other outlets. He won 2024's most-contested SPA award for 'Best Comment Piece' and was shortlisted among the top ten 'Best Newcomer' student journalists across Britain and Ireland. He was awarded the 'Runner-Up' prize for a Political Column in 2026 for the Orwell Society/NUJ Young Journalists' Award. He's also Editor-in-Chief of New Sociological Perspectives graduate journal at LSE and was an avid contributing editor of The Student Intifada newsletter. Alongside working for The Canary, he edits The Internationalist newsletter for Progressive International and translates for anti-imperialist Latin American news outlet The Orinoco Tribune. He holds an MSc in Political Sociology from LSE with a critical media and journalism focus, and is completing the NCTJ multimedia journalism diploma.
