Defend Our Juries’ Crosland – judges have tarnished careers with proscription decision

The Defend Our Juries group’s director Tim Crosland has described the scandal of five appeal court judges siding with the government to protect Israel as a stain on their careers. The Appeals Court granted Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood’s appeal against the High Court’s finding that the Starmer regime’s ban on anti-genocide group Palestine Action was unlawful.

Crosland – a former deputy director of the government’s National Crime Agency – gave a hard-hitting interview to the Canary in the wake of the judges’ decision. In it, he pointed out that the judges know full well that Israeli weapons firm Elbit – described by the court as carrying on ‘lawful’ business – is a death merchant helping Israel commit genocide, unlawful under both domestic and international law.

“Fiction” says Defend Our Juries’ Crosland

And he said that their decision is based knowingly on a “fiction”, created to enforce the punishment on people who are trying to stop terrorism:

You have crossed the line from democracy to autocracy… us[ing] terrorism legislation to silence their political opponents…

…and the really shocking thing is that five eminent judges, who have given their whole lives to upholding the rule of law, can refer to Elbit Systems as a lawful business, when they know full well that what Elbit Systems does is supply drones to the IDF… which in carrying out a genocide, which is the crime of crimes, are used to kill civilians, are used to slaughter children.

And these judges know that is not lawful … and to reach the verdict they want to reach, they’re willing to present us with a fiction…

…This is not the place where the rule of law gets upheld. This is the place where it gets repressed.
