How XRP is Playing a Part in Financial Freedom and the Decentralisation of Digital Entertainment

Digital forms of entertainment have been around for several years now, but this area is still changing rapidly as new technology is added to traditional ways of being entertained. The cryptocurrency XRP is a great example of how decentralisation is moving fast and adding new benefits.

What Is XRP and How Does it Differ from Ripple?

A lot of people think that XRP and Ripple are the same thing, so let’s start by clearing up the difference between them. XRP is the ticker symbol for a digital asset created by the Ripple company and used on the XRP ledger. Ripple uses the RippleNet payment platform, where XRP is the source of liquidity for banks and financial institutions that want to move cash instantly across the planet.

Among the most recent news stories, we can see that Ripple Payments has been transformed into a full-stack corporate payment infrastructure. This means that companies can use it in a huge number of ways, meeting all of their fiat and cryptocurrency needs in one place.

The concept of this decentralised monetary system has been around since 2004, meaning that the idea is even older than the Bitcoin (BTC) network. However, it wasn’t launched until 2012.

Casino Games for the Unbanked

The fact that XRP can be used for extremely speedy, low-cost global transfers means that it’s used for a variety of purposes. Its use as a bridge currency for financial institutions is the most famous way that it’s used, but individual users can also send this digital asset anywhere on the planet without any fuss.

We can see one of the major benefits of this approach by looking at a Ripple casino. This type of gambling site typically accepts other cryptos, like Bitcoin, Tron, and Tether, as well as XRP. Each of these currencies works in a similar way, as you buy it from an exchange and then send it to the casino’s wallet to fund your account.

Once you’ve added your funds, you can start playing casino games in the standard way. Slots work as you’d imagine, with a set of reels that spin around until they settle on a series of symbols that will hopefully provide you with a win or even a jackpot.

Roulette, baccarat, and blackjack are all games that can be played when you use this decentralised currency. By funding your account with XRP, you can control how you manage your bankroll and gambling budget more easily. Since there’s no direct link to your main bank account and cards, you simply transfer across the amount you want to use each time.

If you’re new to crypto and digital casinos, this short quiz is a fun way to see how your personality fits in.

Faster and with Lower Fees

Of course, the other main benefit is that you can move money a lot faster, and usually with lower fees. XRP was designed to make it easy to transfer tokens without any hassle, and this is as much of a benefit in online casinos as it is for companies moving massive sums from one country to another.

When you move XRP tokens from one wallet to another, the funds generally arrive almost instantly. This is even more impressive when we consider the speed of the alternative online banking methods that we’ve been using over the years.

Many people have traditionally asked for a bank transfer when cashing out casino winnings. This old-fashioned approach can take several days, or even more than a week, to go through. It can also involve high fees that eat into your winnings. On the other hand, XRP leaves your winnings intact, and it’s right there in your wallet with virtually no waiting time.

More Privacy and Security

The final point we need to consider is that XRP has greatly enhanced the feeling of privacy and security in digital entertainment.  This is crucial since hacking is one of the emerging risks in the entertainment industry. The growth of the gig economy is another factor that’s forcing us to look more closely at the technology we use and the risks we face.

Malware and ransomware are among the threats that we need to consider when looking for digital entertainment. This makes using XRP more attractive, since it puts an extra layer of privacy between us and the sites we use. It’s considered one of the safest types of assets because it’s easy to store using a hot or cold wallet.

If you want to start gambling but are worried about using traditional banking methods in digital entertainment, XRP provides a sensible solution. You’ll still be spinning reels and placing chips as though you were in sunny Las Vegas, but your funds will be safely locked up in arguably the safest, most secure type of money ever created.
