We live in a world where technology is advancing faster than we have ever imagined and we also live in a world where patience is decreasing faster than we have ever imagined which is partly due to the fact that we are seeing such quick progressions in tech!

Nowadays, so many things like sending money, making a payment, receiving a payment, etc that used to take days to happen, can be done within seconds. If you were to send a bank transfer to your friend, you could log into your online banking account and do it within a few clicks and they’d receive it instantly. It is because of things like this why we live in an era where patience is low.

So when it comes to any type of service that involves money, whether it be making a transaction, spending money at an online casino, or buying a product online, we want it to be processed ASAP.

We noticed that the iGaming industry is in fact one of the major industries that are promoting faster payments quite heavily. A lot of consumers and players do indeed look specifically for gaming platforms in which they can receive winnings or deposit funds within an instant. For example, there is a lot of popularity around the fastest withdrawal casinos. What once was not really a topic discussed in this industry, it is now a popular search term for bettors online. We managed to find a whole host of online casinos that do in fact promote just how quickly customers can expect to receive their winnings in their bank account or chosen withdrawal method.

This is more than what can be said for other industries, for example ecommerce where it looks like they still don’t really care about the importance of faster payments from the consumer’s side. Some ecommerce sites can have you waiting over a week to receive your refund. This in itself can be a put off for people. The worst part is that it’s some of the biggest online fashion brands that are implementing this, when in reality, they could make the process a lot quicker.

The importance of it can’t be stressed enough, with the vast majority of customers agreeing that faster payments makes them feel more appreciated.

In this article, we’re going to look at faster payments and how you can use them to ensure the security of your funds.

What Are Faster Payments?

These wire transfers are processed quickly and immediately deposited into the recipient’s account. Faster Payments Service is a UK banking initiative adopted mainly to reduce the time of transactions between clients’ accounts. Instead of waiting for money to clear and facing penalties for late payments, this banking system allows you to move money instantly.

It allows you to send funds in different currencies, including euros and dollars. It is also designed to ensure effortless currency conversions and cross-border transfers. Transactions using Faster Payments can also be processed in-branch, over the phone, on the bank’s websites, or via their mobile banking system.

How Do Faster Payments in the UK Work?

The system sends information from bank to bank quickly, rather than taking three days for a transaction to happen. To have faster payments, a system must have the following essential qualities: instant transaction settlement, availability, and immediate confirmation for both sender and buyer and Faster Payments offers just that.

From initiation to transaction completion, here is a case scenario of how Faster Payments works.

  • Initiation: Customer A makes an API call for a payment. The amount is $500,000, and the currency is specified. Customer A specifies that Customer B will receive the ongoing transaction.
  • Authorization and Transmission: After inputting the information, Customer A confirms that they have enough funds to send the funds to Customer B. After clicking confirm, the payment is en route, meaning no changes can be made.
  • Acceptance: Customer A is notified when Customer B’s bank accepts the transaction, and Customer B’s account is credited $500,000.
  • Receipt: Customer A will then receive a confirmation notification that the payment is complete, and Customer BB will receive an immediate notification about the payment and access to the funds.

Even though this is just a simple case scenario, Faster Payments follows this procedure regardless of whether you use the phone or the bank website.

What Types of Payments Can Be Made Using Faster Payments?

Faster Payments is structured to handle four different types of payments. They are as follows:

Single Immediate Payments

With this, the customer can initiate a transaction using the phone, the bank’s website, or the branch, and the funds will be available to the recipient’s account within 15 seconds. Faster Payments will provide a reason within 15 seconds if the transaction fails.

Forward-dated Payments

These transactions follow the same procedure as single immediate payments, but the customer sets a later crediting date for the recipient’s account. They are pre-arrangements, where the customer initiates a payment now but sets the system for the receipt’s account to be credited later.

Standing Orders

This also involved pre-arranging dates, but in this case, the customer set the account to pay a fixed amount to the same recipient on regular dates. The dates can be weekly, monthly, or at specific times of the year.

Direct Corporate Access Payments

This payment service is mainly available for business customers who want bulk payment files. The payment files are input using a secure IP solution similar to Bacstel-IP.

Is Faster Payments Secure?

Yes, Faster Payments does a lot of behind-the-scenes work to ensure your security while performing transactions. The system uses a strong authentication structure and identity factors to ensure that customers’ card details and personal data are not used without their knowledge.

However, you must still be alert to avoid fraud while using this banking system. Most of the frauds that have involved Faster Payments Service accounts have been due to a glitch on the customer’s side.

Examples of these bank frauds include account takeovers, synthetic identity theft, and social engineering. To prevent such fraud, you can only keep your information secure and not share your details with anyone or on social media.

How Long Does Faster Payments Take?

Most of these payments are always available immediately. After initiating a transaction and clicking send, the recipient on the other side will always be credited within 15 seconds. However, in rare cases, the payments may take up to 2 hours to complete when made outside regular working hours.

Ensure the Safety of Your Funds With faster Payment

Faster Payments is now available to ensure the security of your funds while paying and making withdrawals at your favorite casino. Register an account with them, link it to your casino account, and enjoy lifelong security.
