The reliably horrid Katie Hopkins is at it again, this time cheering on scenes of a burning mosque following an arson attack in Dublin. Hopkins put out the following on X:

Terrible fire at a mosque in Dublin.

Climate change is a shocking thing.

God bless the True Irish pic.twitter.com/kbVkOOSWtA

— Katie Hopkins (@KTHopkins) June 29, 2026

Needless to say, the serial hatemonger doesn’t actually care about the climate breakdown endangering us all. She has made light of this existential threat to humanity numerous times:

Batshit Bonkers Britain 3 Feb

Climate is the new Covid. Designed to make us smaller & less.

Be BIGGER & MORE pic.twitter.com/72TyCfzFzY

— Katie Hopkins (@KTHopkins) February 3, 2025

Drill baby drill

1. Trans no longer a thing
2. World health organisation powerless
3. Climate Accord ripped up
4. NGOs defunded
5. Zelensky back to his rubber gimp suit
6. Troops on the border

If anything could make a menopausal old hag moist, it’s drill baby drill pic.twitter.com/KMWp85jEha

The Dublin mosque attack occurred at around 15:35 on Monday June 29. The Irish Independent and other outlets are reporting that an Iranian man carried out the Islamophobic hate crime. The BBC report that the Garda have arrested “a man in his 40s”. While the Garda are yet to reveal any further details about him, the culprit has been clearly shown in numerous videos from the scene.

One on the Irish Independent website shows a man in a grey tracksuit setting alight the mosque’s doorway. Another, shared by the far-right Turning Point UK, shows seemingly the same person standing in the middle of the street and shouting hateful abuse about Islam. He screams:

We don’t want Islam in Ireland. Do you understand? We do not want Islam in this country. Go back to your fucking country. Go back to your fucking country. I burnt down a mosque in Talbot Street. Go back to your fucking country. We don’t want Islam in this country. Do you understand?

Dublin attack already being weaponised

Turning Point UK framed the attack – without concrete evidence – as:

A migrant set fire to a mosque on Dublin’s Talbot Street.

Expect this to be the modus operandi for the far-right on this, as it enables them to both demonise migrants and cheer on an attack against Muslims. Racist clown Timmy Robinson has already taken a similar line.

Faizan E Madinah prayer hall and Islamic education centre in Dublin was set on fire this afternoon, ironically by a migrant, shouting:

“Go back to your f*cking country, we don’t want Islam in this country.” pic.twitter.com/XWgg8UstKS

— Tommy Robinson 🇬🇧 (@TRobinsonNewEra) June 29, 2026

As for celebrating or encouraging attacks on Muslims, amounting to the crime of incitement to violence, X seems to be free to operate outside the law on this. Beneath Hopkins’ tweet there are numerous hateful commenters either rejoicing about the attack or calling for more like it:

It wasn't a terrible fire it was a wonderful fire 🤷🏻🤷🏻

Whoever did this….. I owe u a beer. 😁👍

— Owl Darling (@OwlDarling) June 30, 2026

Burn them all!

— BlastGoys (@proudgoyim2025) June 30, 2026

As pointed out by Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, these people are given license by X’s trillionaire owner Elon Musk:

The richest man in the world is again publicly telling his hundreds of millions of followers that he supports the vigilante murder of his political enemies followed by the killings of immigrants, all to the crickets of any mainstream media attention. pic.twitter.com/dCTMEIa2uH

— Aaron Reichlin-Melnick (@ReichlinMelnick) June 29, 2026

Hopkins is just one prominent arm of this cauldron of hate now generating routine real world violence. Her criminal blessing of the “True Irish” for the arson attack – put out before video emerged showing the attacker’s identity – reflects the same ethnonationalism as the likes of Michael McCarthy. Recently the Canary reported on his targeting of school children for having what he deemed the wrong skin colour. This prevented them from being “True Irish”, at least in the vacuum-filled head he possesses, mirrored by Hopkins.

Mosque attack foreseen by previously harassed worshippers

Meanwhile, the Irish Muslim Council has released a statement warning of the effect hate directed at Muslims is having on those they represent. They said:

The Irish Muslim Council strongly condemns today’s shocking arson attack on a Mosque on Talbot Street in Dublin city centre. The reported petrol bomb attack, carried out on a Monday afternoon in broad daylight, is a deeply disturbing assault on a place of worship and an attack on the fundamental values of peace, religious freedom and community safety that Ireland holds dear.

They also explained that this same mosque in Dublin has been the site of targeted Islamophobia:

This incident comes after weeks of repeated intimidation directed at this Mosque. On numerous occasions, individuals associated with the far right entered the mosque, livestreamed worshippers on social media platforms, interrogated members of the congregation, and spread inflammatory and false narratives portraying Muslims as a threat to Irish society. Such campaigns of harassment and dehumanisation are reckless and dangerous. While the Garda investigation will determine the circumstances surrounding today’s attack, sustained hate-filled rhetoric and organised intimidation create an environment in which extremists may feel emboldened to commit acts of violence.

The Irish Muslim Council has repeatedly warned about the growing threat posed by anti-Muslim hatred and far-right extremism. Today’s attack demonstrates that when hatred is normalised and incitement is left unchecked, the consequences can be grave.

So much of that hate is now generated via social media. Smartphones function as a modern day Volksempfänger. The radio of Nazi Germany was used to pump Hitler’s bile-infested speeches incessantly into the German people’s ears. The devices we hold in the palm of our hands now fulfil a similar function for the likes of Musk, Robinson et al. The Volksempfänger played a role in enabling the Nazi holocaust, and constant demonisation of Muslims has already helped to lay the groundwork for the Zionist holocaust in Gaza.

The constant attacks against people of the Islamic faith indicate these horrors are yet to fully play out. It’s hard to imagine worse than the events in Palestine, but as the world’s richest men seek to escalate a global campaign of hate, that grim possibility remains.
