Donald Trump’s booted ghoul Tony Blair off his Gaza ‘peace’ board

Undead former UK prime minister and on-the-run war criminal Tony Blair has been unceremoniously given the boot. The Butcher of Baghdad has spent months trying to insert himself into a key role in the Gaza peace plans. Course, it’s well known Big Tony has never seen a Middle East war he didn’t want to get involved in.

But now US president Donald Trump has dropped Blair. Why? Well surprisingly, Blair isn’t exactly popular in the region. The Financial Times reports:

Some Arab and Muslim states pushed back against Blair’s position, in part because of the damage to his reputation in the Middle East caused by his staunch support for the US-led 2003 invasion of Iraq.

There were also concerns that Palestinians would be marginalised from the governance structure.

Unlucky, Nosferatu:

🚨BREAKING — Tony Blair has been dropped from Donald Trump's proposed "board of peace" in Gaza, according to a new report in the Financial Times.

Tony Blair sent back to his crypt

It can’t have come as a huge shock. When plans to involve Blair first emerged in autumn 2025 even health minister Wes Streeting – Tony’s eldritch, waxen-faced spawn of the deep-crypts – said Dracula’s involvement would raise eyebrows.

Blair had been expecting to sit on an ‘executive committee’ to oversee the peace plan. But Trump himself wondered out loud whether regional powers would accept him:

I’ve always liked Tony, but I want to find out that he’s an acceptable choice to everybody.

There’s no accounting for taste…

As the Canary and Skwawkbox reported in early October, a leak showed that the board would contain several billionaires and one single Palestinian. That plan, drawn up by Blair’s Institute for Change, was called the “Gaza International Transitional Authority”.

Australia’s ABC network published the leaked draft in early October. That draft said the board would exercise “supreme strategic and political authority” over Gaza. A point which Gazans, battered by two years of genocidal bombing, might well contest.

Blair’s part in the illegal war on Iraq won’t be forgotten at home and aboard. He remains a pariah, hated by both right and left – loved only by a cabal of centrist ghouls. His legacy in the Middle East is, at a conservative estimate, hundreds of thousands of deaths.

On 29 September, when Blair was still angling for a part in the Gaza plan, his institute tweeted that Trump’s vision was “bold”. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. And it doesn’t much matter what Blair thinks anyway. Because his toxic legacy in the Middle East has proven too much even for Trump.
