BREAKING: US ‘border patrol’ shoots two people in Portland OR – or is it ICE again?

US media are reporting that ‘Border Patrol’, or ‘Customs and Border Protection’ federal agents in Southeast Portland, Oregon near the US west coast on Thursday afternoon 8 January.

Portland Border Patrol shooting

However, Portland is not a border city, raising questions about whether the ‘federal agents’ were really CBP – or were again Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) thugs and the authorities did not want to announce that ICE had shot two more people after the murder of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis a day earlier.

The Trump regime and Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) head Kristi Noem have brought CBP into many non-border cities to support ICE. In some states, DHS has installed CBP agents to run ICE units, so the line between the two organisations is not clear-cut. Therefore, it is not clear cut at present what role border patrol were playing in Portland.

The regime may wish to obscure the involvement of ICE in the shootings amid the nationwide backlash over the murder of Ms Good – or the announcement may be part of the Trump administration’s general strategy of confusion and contradiction.

Noem has told Minneapolis police to “butt out” of the Good investigation. There is currently no word on the condition of the shooting victims, or whether local law enforcement will be allowed to investigate.

Latest reports from on the ground in Portland says that a man and a woman have been hospitalised after the border patrol shooting.

“ However, Portland is not a border city…..”
Of course it is; it’s border is the Columbia river, right opposite Vancouver, in that country with Maple leaves and Mounties, what’s it called….(checks)……..Canada?
As for CBP being present, there’s also the international airport, called Portland International Airport……
