Government raises ‘terror threat’ level to ‘severe’

The Starmer government has raised the ‘UK National Threat Level‘ from ‘substantial’ to ‘severe’. The change means the government and security services claim a terror attack in the next six months is ‘highly likely’.

The move comes after the 29 April 2026 stabbing incident in Golders Green, in which a man with known mental health issues and a history of violence, was declared to be a terrorist incident. The stabbing attack by supporters of Israel on a Muslim man last week failed to move the dial – or even get much attention from the government or state-corporate media:

In fact, the only appearance of the Islamophobic attack by Zionists on the front page of search results specifically looking for it is by Iran’s Press TV:

The government’s Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) claimed the rise was driven by “an increase in the broader Islamist [threat]”, adding a nod to the “extreme right-wing terrorist threat”, though police and government show no concern about right-wing extremism in practice. It is certain to be used by the Starmer regime to intensify its pro-Israel war on anti-genocide protest and UK citizens’ rights.

In my city 200,000+ diverse citizens including Jewish Socialists & Anti-Zionists have marched over 100 times and from us peaceful & compassionate citizens none have been prosecuted and there has been nil abuse of the police and nil damage to property.
Let’s be clear we have absolutely nothing against diverse Jewish citizens, a significant number are our friends & we are peacefully trying to stop the Genocide in Gaza which is driven by Zionists.
We are Anti-Zionist as are significant numbers of diverse Jewish people, one survey had support for Zionism in the UK amongst the diverse Jewish population as only 59%.
And the Left has a proud record of standing up face to face to the Far Right, the real anti-semites, and at these demos well known Right Wing/Zionist Groups (our critics) were nowhere to be seen standing with us as we put ourselves at personal risk for EQUALITY as some of the Far Right were fuelled by drink.
But let’s be clear, random acts of individual terrorism (whatever the mental state of the individuals) are crazy, wrong and politically backfire; they treat in this case the Diverse Jewish Community as homogenous (as though they are all the same) but the random diverse Jewish citizens they are attacking might be Left Wing or Anti Zionist and might actually have been on Pro Palestine marches.
Peaceful protest and political actions are more powerful & effective and must be the only game in town rather than politically blind random acts of terrorism which Lenin argued were about as effective as “Swatting a knat.”
We will keep on with peaceful political protest as we have done for 30 months now and as always stand in solidarity with ALL of the diverse working class and all diverse
citizens. ☮️❤️⚖️

Movements make history.
Even if a leader is taken out you’d get their deputy and the same policies but in a different tone.
The best leaders are those who can read their movement.
I always said we supported Jeremy Corbyn because he agreed with us.
Can’t wait for Your Party to get constituency parties and we can start developing IDEAS and promoting them.
Have been supporting a young Your Party candidate in my city in May’s local elections and he supports Free Public Transport on the buses for ALL.
Our ideas I believe will change the world for the oppressed and all.
Vote Your Party or Independent Groups that are in tune with our values.
