No. 10 cat is the UK’s most stable, sensible figure — charlatans come and go

In 16 years of sick political farce, Number 10 has seen a string of toxic clowns and charlatans arrive, then leave in disgrace and dishonour. Starmer’s the latest.

Outlasting every PM, including Starmer

Six sorry excuses for PM in since 2015. In order, we have, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak and now Keir Starmer — all now (wrong-side) history. And if Number 10 has seen them slink off, so has its cat, Larry.

Seeing off foxes

But sometimes the cat is more proactive. It even had enough sense to give Liz Truss, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy the cold shoulder — and saw off a fox and several pigeons. Perhaps he could be trained to see off Israeli ministers and their fixers. Then there might just be a sliver of hope of actual change in Downing Street.
