The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reported that its air defences are shooting down both missile attacks and incoming drones from Iran.

One Iranian drone caused a fire at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone. The UAE deployed defence teams to contain the blaze, according to the Fujairah Media Office.

This is the first time that Iran has fired any missiles since the ‘ceasefire’ came into effect in early April. Meanwhile, Israel, as the Canary is documenting, has blatantly ignored the ceasefire in Lebanon and is still brazenly bombing civilians and occupying Lebanese territories in the south.

The current attacks appear to be in response to Donald Trump’s ‘Project Freedom’ in the Strait of Hormuz. He announced that the US would help:

guide their Ships safely out of these restricted Waterways.

However, Iran’s central command quickly responded. It stated it would attack any foreign armed force that tried to approach or enter the strait, especially “the aggressive US army”.

Maj. Gen. Ali Abdollahi asserted that:

asserted that the Iranian armed forces are the sole guarantors of security in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that all maritime movement in the strategic waterway must be coordinated with Iranian forces.

He warned the US military or other foreign powers against approaching or entering the area, and said that “any unauthorized presence” would be met with a response.
