Recently, Nigel Farage and his pals in Reform reacted furiously when it was suggested they intend to strike a deal with the Tories. Despite this, the party keeps making deals with individual Tories, who they’re welcoming into the party en masse. The latest such Tory defector is going to be the first Reform lord:

Quick question — how many Tory defectors can Reform admit before there’s no denying they’re just the Conservative Party 2.0?
Reform lord — Meet the new establishment
Malcolm Ian Offord is also known as ‘baron Offord of Garvel’, which is a fun thing to say out loud because it sounds like you’re speaking with a mouth full of toffee. As noted above, Offord isn’t just a peer; he’s also a millionaire and an ex-Tory donor.
Fair play to Reform for convincing anyone they represent the British working class, because it can’t be easy to pull that off when your party is waist deep in wealthy donors.
Offord announced his defection at a rally event in Falkirk with Farage, where he said the following:
Today I can announce that I am resigning from the Conservative Party.
Today I am joining Reform UK and today I announce my intention to stand for Reform in the Holyrood election in May next year.
And that means that from today, for the next five months, day and night, I shall be campaigning with all of you tirelessly for two objectives.
The first objective is to remove this rotten SNP government after 18 years, and the second is to present a positive vision for Scotland inside the UK, to restore Scotland to being a prosperous, proud, healthy and happy country.

If there’s anyone who can win over the Scottish working class, we’re sure it’s baron Offal of Garble — the ex-Tory lord.
Oh, and like all the most trustworthy people in politics, Offord was made a lord by none other than Boris Johnson:

Here’s what the SNP said when Johnson made Offord a lord:
There are already serious questions facing the Tories over the use of millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money for vanity projects and Covid contracts, but to now hand out roles and peerages to party donors shows contempt for democracy.
Boris Johnson has clearly failed to appoint someone within his own ranks and has now had to go searching for a financial associate to help counter the growing support for independence.
Cronytopia
So there we have it, Scottish voters.
This is the case that Reform are making to keep the union together: you’ll be ruled by Boris Johnson’s sloppy seconds, and you’ll like it.
