On 6 December, Tommy Robinson posted the following message to Twitter/X:

As people quickly pointed out, however, Robinson was spreading misinformation:
❌ Not a single person died.
❌ It’s a car crash : drunk driver.
❌ And it’s everywhere in French media. What a liar you are.
For everyone to see.https://t.co/oKlAT4Scvm— Pierre Monégier (@PierreMonegier) December 6, 2025
Tommy Robinson is a misinformation machine
We screen-grabbed Robinson’s tweet above in case he deletes it, but it’s still live at the time of writing. Notably, Robinson has previously left posts up despite them containing misinformation.
The incident Tommy Robinson is referring to took place in Guadeloupe, which is a series of six inhabited islands in the Caribbean considered to be an ‘overseas region’ of the French Republic. Regarding the incident, le Monde are reporting a car crashed into a food truck, injuring 19 pedestrians in the process. Reportedly, the driver tested positive for both alcohol and cannabis. The report adds three people are in a critical condition, including a 10-year-old boy.
To give you an idea of why Robinson jumped on this story, here are some of the responses to his tweet:

Robinson didn’t need to say ‘it was an immigrant/Muslim who did it‘, because the algorithm has obviously conditioned his audience to assume any violent event was perpetrated by migrants. Most of these people likely have no idea where Guadeloupe is, and unless Robinson continues to push this misinformation, they’ll never think about it again.
Following his post, Robinson got a retweet from his good friend Elon Musk:
Again https://t.co/Fo29fiI1V8
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 6, 2025
“Again”, Musk says, and he’s right to note this has happened before (by ‘this’, we mean ‘misinformation spreading on Twitter’):
Beware of Elon Musk & his christmas' racist disinformation campaign. (Not a single person died, the driver was under the influence of drugs & alcohol) https://t.co/iDTfQmZ68q pic.twitter.com/67wGGRzXnV

Musk — a South African who lives in America — is hyper-paranoid about migration, and regularly tweets messages like the following:
Low birth rate is the number one threat to the West, followed closely by migration.
There will be no West if this continues. https://t.co/BNAf0Dj28P
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 2, 2025
At this point, it’s hard to tell if Musk is pushing this stuff for personal gain, or if he’s also been fully lobotomised by the Twitter algorithm.
People have highlighted that Musk said the following just yesterday:
Our @CommunityNotes system and asking @Grok if something is true contribute enormously to fighting fast-moving falsehoods! https://t.co/cNBbdxski5
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 6, 2025
As we reported, Musk’s AI recently claimed Musk is perhaps the fittest man in history:
Grok is now telling us, with a straight face, that Elon Musk is in better shape than LeBron James. 🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/jQNQS2EW3h
— Alastair McAlpine, MD (@AlastairMcA30) November 20, 2025
Finally, by giving people the ability to monetise tweets, Musk has actually given ghouls like Tommy Robinson an incentive to spread viral misinformation:
Delete your post Stephen.
It’s an outright lie.
Disinformation pays the bills though right? 17m views for a straight up, stone cold lie. https://t.co/Fu88TrNimG
