Zarah Sultana has announced that the controversial ICO case into Your Party has been dropped. Confident this means the embattled party will now be able to move forward, Sultana stated:

I have been informed that the ICO has dropped the case around the Your Party membership portal.

I always anticipated that this inquiry would conclude with no further action and I am pleased that everyone can now draw a line under the matter.

— Zarah Sultana MP (@zarahsultana) January 9, 2026

Her message in full reads:

I have been informed that the ICO has dropped the case around the Your Party membership portal.

I always anticipated that this inquiry would conclude with no further action and I am pleased that everyone can now draw a line under the matter.

Like many members of Your Party, I am looking forward to campaigning for a Central Executive Committee (CEC) that breaks decisively from Labour right tactics, gives power to members and local branches, and helps build a mass movement for socialism.

I will continue working closely with Jeremy and comrades across the movement to build on our 60,000 members — the largest socialist party in the UK since the 1940s. Let’s get to work ✊🏽

Zarah Sultana reported ‘For the sake of the party’

The case was brought after Jeremy Corbyn and his team referred Zarah Sultana to the information standards watchdog. This was reportedly in response to Sultana activating the Your Party membership portal, which subsequently led to allegations that she had mishandled finances and data.

The division between Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana has just got deeper – she is being reported to the ICO for her membership drive by the former Labour leader’s supporters in ‘Your Party’ pic.twitter.com/RDRrFg9PBC

Sultana also began legal action against Corbyn following these allegations, but subsequently halted them, stating on X:

For the sake of the party, and as an act of good faith, I will not be pursuing legal proceedings despite the baseless and unsubstantiated allegations against me

The ICO dropping the case clears her of improper behaviour in this instance.

A clean slate: take it

After months of infighting, briefing, and confusion, the Your Party membership are desperate to move forward and build a socialist movement that can challenge Reform. The abandoned ICO case has provided clarity regarding Sultana’s actions, representing an opportunity for a clean slate for the executive to move forward.

As our own Antifabot wrote following the public spats:

Please listen. You both represent two absolute necessary parts of this movement. We need the deep wisdom of you, Jeremy. And we need the unshakeable fire of the youth from you, Zarah. We need you both. We don’t give a shit who is whispering to you behind the scenes, we don’t care who is sniping at who on social media. For the love of the movement, and for the people you claim to champion, please drop this.

We hope that 2026 now fosters the unity, respect, and camaraderie that is desperately needed to defeat the divisive far-right Reform on the doorsteps.
