Farage is ducking Polanski’s call for a one-to-one debate

On 9 January, Green Party leader Zack Polanski challenged Reform Nigel Farage to a one-to-one debate. As you’d expect, Farage immediately accepted the offer, as he was keen to defend his well thought-out political ethos to an engaged audience.

Oh wait, that’s wrong isn’t it; we meant to say he completely blanked Polanski and went silent:

Has anyone seen Nigel Farage in the last 20 hours? 👀 https://t.co/qpoAFwtNHK

The invisible man (Farage, not Polanski)

Polanski proposed the debate in response to this clip:

Zack Polanski is a lunatic. pic.twitter.com/pyTByHRoqA

— Nigel Farage MP (@Nigel_Farage) January 9, 2026

In the video, Farage says:

I mean this Polanski bloke’s appeared out of nowhere.

Farage is having the opposite problem to what a baby has when you play ‘peek-a-boo’. Polanski didn’t ‘appear out of nowhere’; Farage just hadn’t heard of him, because he wasn’t involved in left-wing politics.

To explain it in a fashion Farage can understand, it’s like our relationship to Nathan Gill – the former Reform Wales leader who was arrested for taking bribes to push Russian propaganda. Because we’d never heard of Gill, we could have thought he’d ‘appeared out of nowhere’ if not for understanding that people exist outside our own sphere of awareness. Gill didn’t feel like that to Farage, obviously, as the pair had known one another for years:

Reform’s former leader in Wales Nathan Gill has been jailed for 10 years after accepting pro-Russia bribes of tens of thousands of pounds.

Reform spokespeople previously suggested their leaders didn't really know Gill.

In the clip, Farage continued:

Ambitious sort of chap, isn’t he really, with something he’s trying to do. I mean clearly a lunatic.

Talking of people appearing to lose their faculties, Farage is currently causing controversy by refusing to say that X/Twitter should be banned if it continues to produce Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We wouldn’t say that makes him a “lunatic”, as it seems to be a case of political opportunism (i.e. not wanting to upset Elon Musk – the facilitator of said CSAM).

Back to the clip, Farage continued:

But, you know, there’s a market out there for heroin. There’s a market out there for open borders. If this is what turns you on, then the Greens are clearly for you.

Talking of smack and borders, was Farage drugged up when he went to bat for Russia in the EU parliament?

Here's Farage parroting Russian propaganda lies that could have come straight out of Lavrov's mouth.

Are we really to believe that Nathan Gill, who spouted the same lies, is the only Russian asset in Reform UK? pic.twitter.com/JjZGGf5HFU

— Nick Reeves #RejoinEU #NAFO #FBPE (@nickreeves9876) November 21, 2025

Probably not, as we don’t think there is a drug which makes people randomly spout Putin propaganda. We can think of other exchangeables which might make a person do that, but that’s not for us to say.

On the run

We’re not sure why Farage would duck Polanski when he has such strong talking points, but he does indeed seem to be ducking him:

notice how farage has been silent https://t.co/C9HACaBuie

Hopefully Farage finds the courage soon, just like he found the courage to speak up for Vladimir Putin and Elon Musk.
