Starmer is now set to lose HIS OWN SEAT to the Greens

A bruising new poll shows Keir Starmer stands to lose his own seat to the Green Party in the next election:

This probably wasn’t what he meant when he said 2026 is the year when Britons will ‘turn a corner’.

Problems on top of problems for Starmer

This poll presents three key issues for Starmer:

  • He can’t be the prime minister if he loses his seat.
  • If he’s losing his seat, it’s likely that Labour lost the entire election.
  • Now things are this bad, there’s no way his MPs won’t kick him out of Downing Street the first chance they get.

As we reported, this isn’t even the only potentially-career ending poll he’s had this week:

🚨 Latest Opinium @ObserverUK poll 🚨

Keir Starmer’s approval rating has fallen to net -46, his joint lowest score ever.

It matches Theresa May’s historic low in May 2019.

To be fair, Starmer does have multiple polls like this most weeks, so this isn’t entirely unexpected. At this point, his ‘career’ is persisting in his position despite all evidence that he logically should (or would even want to) quit.

While it seems like it’s all over for Starmer, this week actually saw signs that he’s beginning to grow a spine:

EXCLUSIVE: Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer tells us he “will take action” on “disgraceful and disgusting” reports around child abuse imagery on Elon Musk’s Grok AI.

It’s as the Internet Watch Foundation says criminal imagery appears to have been created using Grok: pic.twitter.com/KwQFbyZyIq

While it may seem like standing against Child Sexual Abuse Imagery (CSAM) is the least you could expect from a prime minister, Starmer has repeatedly exceeded expectations on how little spine a PM can have while still sitting upright:

#BBCLauraK to Keir Starmer: "You've been incredibly clear, that Putins attack on a sovereign country, Ukraine, was wrong & ought to be condemned. What about Trumps attack on a sovereign country of Venezuela.. will you condemn that action against a sovereign state? pic.twitter.com/MNuCxmeT21

With his past form, if the Greens do present a serious challenge to him in the next election, there’s every chance he’ll surrender before they have chance to trounce him at the polls.

Labour voters are turning to the Green party, presumably after voting for Starmer’s Labour party in the 2024 general election. What might this tell us about the political position of the UK’s two Green parties? I doubt that it means the Greens are socialists.

Not just Labour voters, but Labour councillors – who were quite happy to exist under Starmer until the increasing toxicity of their position encouraged them to discover their ‘green’ credentials.

No doubt they will expect to continue to stand next time elections are due. And so, as Tory voters and councillors defected to Deform UK to become the Tories 2.0, so the Greens look set to become Labour 2.0.
