THIS PODCAST CONTAINS LANGUAGE AND CONTENT SOME PEOPLE MAY FIND OFFENSIVE. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED IN THIS EPISODE ARE THE OPINIONS OF THE HOST AND GUESTS.

Welcome to series two of #ToppleUncaged!

Every week, The Canary will be bringing you an innovative podcast for the media landscape; hosted by me, Steve Topple.

In a special episode, I caught up with a global dancehall superstar with a conscience: Jahmiel.

Mr Topple x Jahmiel

Jahmiel has been making serious waves on the music scene for over a decade. He’s clocked up countless worldwide hits with views and streams numbering in the tens of millions. With his blend of dancehall and afrobeat RnB, he had made name for himself with smash hits such as U Me Luv. But recently he finally released his debut album.  Called Great Man it is a dazzling showcase of not only Jahmiel’s sublime voice, but his musical ingenuity. Because, far from being a straight dancehall record. Great Man is creative dynamite. It blends genres, from soul and dancehall to ambient RnB and afrobeat via trap, and also subject matters. The result is a truly unique sound and a wholly conscious experience.

So, I caught up with Jahmiel for the #ToppleUncaged podcast. We chatted about Great Man, his exceptionally unique style of music, the industry and more.

Enjoy!
