Iconic fashion designer Katharine Hamnett has launched a new collaboration with artists, musicians and politicians for series of slogan t-shirts raising money for Palestine charities. Involved in the project is Jeremy Corbyn – who said Israel must end all its occupations now.

Katharine Hamnett: ‘End Genocide‘

End Genocide is a project developed by Katharine Hamnett and London-based art organisation A/POLITICAL in response to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. The initiative uses the slogan t-shirt, a medium pioneered by Hamnett, to raise awareness and funds for child orphans in Gaza.

Hamnett said:

Silence is complicity. If we don’t speak out about Gaza, we’ve chosen the side of oppression. British taxpayers are paying for children to be butchered in Gaza. Our government refuses to stop supporting Israel, despite the majority view of the UK population. End Genocide.

She is a legendary British fashion designer renowned for pioneering ethical fashion and bold political activism. Best known for her iconic slogan T-shirts – “Choose Love”, “Stay Alive in ‘85” (for AIDS awareness) and “Worldwide Nuclear Ban Now” – she has consistently used fashion as a force for political change. Most notably, in 1984 she met Margaret Thatcher at 10 Downing Street wearing her “58% Don’t Want Pershing” T-shirt, referencing a European opinion poll about nuclear proliferation.

A passionate advocate for human rights, Hamnett is a strong voice against the genocide in Gaza, demanding justice and accountability through her design and activist work, most recently binning her CBE in protest against the UK’s role in the genocide, stating, “It belongs in the dustbin”.

Enough.

Names including Jeremy Corbyn and Lina Hadid have already contributed to the End Genocide campaign with more to be announced soon.

Corbyn  said of the project with Katharine Hamnett:

Through this collaboration we’re showing our solidarity with the Palestinian people. Israel must withdraw from Gaza, the West Bank, the Jordan Valley.

All proceeds will support the Noor Gaza Orphan Care Program by Taawon (Welfare Association): a non-profit, civic organisation launched in 1983 that provides comprehensive care for 20,000 children orphaned by the genocide in Gaza. It provides comprehensive care – food, healthcare, education, psychosocial and vocational support – until age 18, prioritizing dignity and opportunity for the most vulnerable. With no administrative fees, 100% of donations go directly to helping orphaned children rebuild their lives.

A spokesperson for Noor said:

We’re so proud to be part of this collaboration. These aren’t just T-shirts; they’re bold statements of solidarity, shining a light on the reality faced by orphans in Gaza.

These children are resilient and brave, living through unimaginable trauma. What gives us hope is the power of people coming together.

When artists, activists, and communities unite around a cause, it tells every child we reach that they matter; and that they still have a future to dream of. This is what collective compassion looks like. And it’s how we start rebuilding lives.

Katharine Hamnett concluded that:

I am so honoured to be part of this collaboration, working with such amazing people, in a moment of huge opportunity. The stampede to join Jeremy’s new party is extremely exciting and gives me hope for the future – JEREMY CORBYN FOR PRIME MINISTER!
