Batik Air Names Airpaz Best Growth Performer Among Trade Partners

KUALA LUMPUR — Airpaz received the “Best Growth Performance” award at Batik Air’s Above & Beyond Trade Partner Appreciation Night on January 27, 2026, in recognition of the platform’s contribution to passenger volume growth across the carrier’s network.

The event, which brought together key figures from Batik Air‘s trade partner ecosystem, serves as an annual platform for the airline to recognise distributors and booking partners that have demonstrated measurable commercial value over the preceding period.

Performance Metrics Behind the Recognition

Airpaz’s selection for the growth category reflects its standing as a high-converting distribution channel within Batik Air’s partner network. The platform’s localised booking interface and multi-currency support have been credited with driving ticket sales among traveler segments that more conventional online travel agencies have struggled to reach consistently.

The company’s Chief Partnership Officer, Wesley Wijaya, attributed the result to both internal capability and external relationships. “This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts of our team and the strength of our partnership ecosystem,” Wijaya said during the event. He further indicated the company intends to build on the current performance trajectory rather than treat the award as a singular achievement.

Distribution Infrastructure and Payment Access

A notable aspect of Airpaz’s operational model is its payment infrastructure. The platform currently supports more than 100 payment methods, a figure that places it among the more payment-inclusive options in the online travel aggregator space. Partnerships with global financial institutions, including Visa, form part of a deliberate strategy to reduce drop-off at the checkout stage — a persistent challenge for travel platforms operating across markets with varied banking access and card penetration rates.

This approach aligns with a broader industry trend toward frictionless booking, particularly in markets across Southeast Asia and South Asia where digital travel adoption is growing but payment infrastructure remains uneven.

Airpaz Overview

Airpaz has operated as an online travel platform since 2011, offering flights, hotels, and travel activities through both web and mobile channels. The Batik Air recognition adds to its profile within the regional distribution landscape, though sustained growth will ultimately depend on how well it holds its footing in an increasingly competitive digital travel market.
