SKWAWKBOX and Canary are uniting – just as the left must
SKWAWKBOX and the Canary: a united front
In a moment in which the UK is being dragged toward fascism by both the far right and the two biggest Westminster parties and is colluding in Israel’s genocide with the support of those same forces, the left in our country cannot keep doing what it has done until now and expect a different result.
At the same time, with huge support for the new ‘Your Party’ there is an unprecedented opportunity for positive change. However, this will only happen if our movement unites and refuses to be sidetracked or divided.
With fascism on the horizon, there is no room or time for egos, territorialism, or division. The only focus should be the pooling of resources and effort. This will lead us toward the essential goal of showing the people of the UK that the far right and the establishment are two sides of the same coin. Only in socialism is there hope for real change for the better both domestically and internationally.
In this spirit and to that end our two publications, SKWAWKBOX and the Canary, are joining forces. This will mean our output and our influence can be greater than they could be separately. Our aim is to rock the status quo and reach the ordinary people of our country with the messages, truth, and hope that they need to hear.
SKWAWKBOX will be moving to the Canary’s website, where you’ll find all its new content from Monday 8 September.
As a united media force, we will be expanding and diversifying, looking to constantly amplify left-wing voices, and counter messages of hate, fear, and division.
We believe that there are exciting times ahead. SKWAWKBOX and the Canary hope that you will come with us and continue to support us – as we try to support you. Together, we aim to play a central role in not just saving our country but building a real and better future for it.

Great! I think those pooled strengths will work well. (And handy for me personally, because budgeting meant that I had chosen to drop subscription to one; happy that I will be supporting both again).
Great news. Thanks for all you do and have done.
And good luck.
Solidarity.
Thank you Swawkbox and The Canary!
This will strengthen the left media, now with Skwawkbox’s strong voice joining, in unity, to analyse events and indicate the possible ways forward.
Best of luck to all involved with this amalgamation. I read both most days. Better together and it’s needed as the UK moves further to the right politically. What was unacceptable 20 years back now seems to be mainstream.
