White House press secretary attacks Northern Irish journalist

Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, angrily attacked a Northern Irish journalist. She accused him of being a “left-wing activist” earlier this week — after calling out the actions of ICE agents.

Leavitt went for Niall Stanage, who is an associate editor of The Hill.

She lashed out after he questioned the motives of ICE agent Jonathan David Ross. He shot and killed Renee Good on January 7 in Minneapolis.

Since the murder, instead of investigating the killer agent, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is targeting Good’s widow and trying to find links between her and groups that have previously protested ICE. As a result, at least six DOJ prosecutors have resigned.

JD Vance and other government officials have smeared Good as a “domestic terrorist”. This is despite footage from the incident clearly showing her driving away from the ICE agents, not towards them.

‘Left-wing activists’

During the White House press briefing, Stanage mentioned previous comments by Kristi Noem, Homeland Security secretary. She said that ICE had “done everything correctly”.

He asked:

32 people died in ICE custody last year. 170 US citizens were detained by ICE, and Renee Good was shot in the head and killed by an ICE agent. How does that equate to them doing everything correctly?

Leavitt responded with:

Why was Renee Good unfortunately and tragically killed?

Stanage said in response:

Because an ICE agent acted recklessly and killed her unjustifiably.

Leavitt then went on to rant at the journalist, calling him a left-wing activist, not a reporter. She added:

You shouldn’t even be sitting in that seat but you’re pretending you’re a journalist, but you’re a left-wing activist.

I’m guessing she’d call for all the biased right-wing reporters to be removed, too, then?

What Leavitt and the whole of MAGA don’t want us to know is that Renee Good had a long history of youth outreach, community work, and artistic pursuits. She was a poet and a guitarist, a mum and had three children under the age of 16 — not a domestic terrorist. She was simply attempting to get away from a violent, murderous ICE agent thug.

But of course, Trump, Vance, Leavitt and Noem want to paint her as the bad guy — and any journalist willing to point that out now has a target on their backs.

Stanage, a left wing hack? This is a fella who appeared to subscribe to the concept of ‘Islamofascism’ in debate with Monbiot a few years back. I see the White House definition of left wing continues to widen; soon it will encompass everyone not actually a billionaire.
