From Raging Fyah to some serious fyah, flying solo!

Hailing from Saint Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica, Kumar rose to prominence in the hugely successful reggae group Raging Fyah. Being their lead vocalist and main songwriter gave him the opportunity to showcase his raw, musical talent – going as far as a Grammy nomination.

But now, he’s spread his wings further, launching a solo career. With the heavily played State of Emergency and the sumptuous, It’s Alright under his belt, it’s already looking like Kumar may well blow up as a ‘one to watch’ in 2019. So, Canary journalist and broadcaster Steve Topple caught up with Kumar for the Topple Uncaged podcast. They talked music from reggae to classical, Kumar’s nurturing as an artist, his songwriting and the conscious movement – plus lots more.

Enjoy!
