Drillminister is a musician and activist who has now launched a bid to be elected London mayor in 2021. Born and raised in south east London, he is “The Street’s Elected Voice”, representing the youth of Britain that politicians have previously ignored. Drillminister uses Drill as a tool to engage with a new generation of voters on political issues, such as the struggles of working class people, violence and rising levels of air pollution in the city. He is best known for his track Political Drillin’ which he produced in collaboration with Channel 4. The track sees Drillminister quoting extreme, racist and violent language used by MPs. He says “I see the residents of this great city not as statistics and numbers but as a FAMdem. My main goal is to fight for a better future, regardless of our differences".
