Worcester father and baby injured in racist chemical attack

A Muslim dad and his baby have been sprayed with an ‘unknown substance’ in a racist, Islamophobic attack in Ronkswood, Worcester, causing them ‘minor’ skin burns.

Worcester attack: not an isolated incident

A 77-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault, racially aggravated public order and threats to kill. The baby is being treated in hospital after the attack in Worcester.

The attack comes hot on the heels of an attempted stabbing of young Muslim girls outside a mosque in Liverpool and an arson attack on a Sussex mosque, both of which were almost entirely ignored by the same UK ‘mainstream’ media that ran days of stories on the Manchester synagogue attack – in which most victims were killed or wounded by police.

Hate crimes against Muslims have risen by 19% so far this year, on top of a massive 73% last year and an even more horrifying 763% in 2023-4. Hate-incitement by right-wing media and figures such as Nigel Farage and ‘Tommy Robinson’, along with inflammatory speech and policies by successive governments – including the current regime – have fuelled hostility toward minoritised communities and emboldened racists.
