Abu Shabab: ISIS-linked Israel collaborator taken out in Hamas sting
Yasser Abu Shabab, who led the ISIS-aligned, Israel-funded criminal gang named after him, was killed on Thursday in southern Gaza. Who killed him — and how — was unclear.
Not anymore.
According to local reports, Abu Shabab was killed in a Hamas sting operation in which the resistance group’s ‘Qassam Brigades’ succeeded in fooling Israeli intelligence into believing a group of its fighters were really anti-Hamas elements holding a demonstration against the resistance group in Rafah. This allowed them to infiltrate the ranks of his criminal gang. Soon after, they were able to turn on him. They set up an ambush killing Abu Shabab, his second-in-command Ghassan Dhaini, and others from his group.
Israel’s official story in national and western media is that Shabab was killed while “trying to mediate a family dispute”.
It is yet unconfirmed, but local reports say that Shabab’s killers were Muhammad Waheed al-Dabbari and Muhammad Abu Sinima Abu Safiya, pictured above. Both were reportedly killed in the aftermath of the assassination.
Abu Shabab — who had ties with Israel, the UAE and ISIS — was said to be responsible for shooting at and killing Palestinians seeking aid, stealing the aid itself and being the prominent symbol of pro-Israeli infiltration in Gaza. He vowed time and again to ‘liberate’ Gaza from the resistance, and operated in Israeli-controlled zones. He has now been liberated himself from this impossible task by the resistance.

Contrary to the headline, Mr Abu Shabab did not enjoy an evening’s dancing followed by a late meal at a fashionable restaurant. He was killed. Why is that too difficult to type into a headline?
