In shocking twist, Farage calls out the racists on Twitter

Recently, nearly three dozen people from Nigel Farage’s past came forwards to allege that he was a strident, Nazi-style racist as a younger man. Farage alternated between denying the comments, claiming he didn’t mean them in a bad way, and then denying them again. As we covered, an insider claimed Farage wouldn’t admit to or apologise for the racism because he’d be telling his supporters ‘you’re all guilty too‘. Now, he’s doing just that.

Specifically, Farage is calling out the racists who are abusing Reform UK’s Muslim mayoral candidate. The problem is that many of these people are the party’s ideological bedfellows, including a founder of the Brexit Party:

I will never vote for her for : she is not English and she is a Muslim. https://t.co/9IShOHTshY

Nigel Farage the anti-racist

On 7 January, Reform announced that they would stand Laila Cunningham in the London mayoral race:

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

— Reform UK (@reformparty_uk) January 7, 2026

To build some buzz, they also announced a London rally:

This will be EPIC. Can’t wait to see everyone! London needs Reform! https://t.co/zgYG3wEuO2

— Laila Cunningham (@policylaila) January 9, 2026

There is a lot of buzz around Cunningham, it turns out, but it’s more like the buzzing of angry hornets.

Farage was speaking to GB News when he came out as an anti-racist. The interviewer noted that Cunningham is facing abusive comments on X/Twitter, to which the Reform leader responded:

I have spoken to her about it and said, look, just ignore it, keep going, keep doing what you’re doing. I’m afraid X is a free speech platform. There are many things that are said on it that are deeply offensive, but that doesn’t mean it should be banned.

The big problem is that she isn’t just receiving racist abuse; she’s receiving it from Reform’s base of far-right online weirdos:

I refuse to vote for a Muslim candidate.

Laila may well say sensible things about the grooming gangs and Muslim Brotherhood.

But I do not want to be governed by a Muslim anymore than I want to be governed by a communist.

The British public do not like Islam. Why does Reform? https://t.co/xDCYolwLTt pic.twitter.com/eBaU8OGnk0

Reform once again using foreign, muslim candidates.

When will they use British candidates?

An Englishman should be the Mayor of London, not an Egyptian Muslim. https://t.co/EwG8q3mR7r pic.twitter.com/TacjPYVEh6

— Hugh Anthony (@TheHughAnthony) January 7, 2026

To win a majority, Reform cannot only appeal to these freaks. At the same time, the second Reform does anything other than lurch further right, these mutants kick off and start forming breakaway parties.

Many of these people have been further radicalised by the toxic, hyper-racist atmosphere of Elon Musk’s X/Twitter. Just earlier this morning, Musk threw his support behind ‘remigration’, which is the forced deportation of all non-white people from European nations:

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 10, 2026

Strangely, you never see the South African-born and American-based Musk arguing for the remigration of non-indigenous whites like himself.

Oh, and by the way, this was Cunningham last year:

Shabana Mahmood claimed that “Muslim hatred is off the charts.”
I’m Muslim and I’m British. Born here. Raised here. I don’t feel hatred.

But when people come here, refuse to integrate, expect Britain to change for them and then accuse the rest of us of racism, it makes people… pic.twitter.com/VWYsBdZMtS

— Laila Cunningham (@policylaila) September 30, 2025

Has Cunningham failed to integrate? Is that the problem?

No, the problem is she failed to understand her place in the hierarchy. The far right are more than happy for Cunningham to provide cover for their racism, but they won’t tolerate her having any power over them.

A strange choice?

Some suspect Reform chose Cunningham to appeal to London’s Muslim voters, but they didn’t think it through:

Laila Cunningham will not be mayor of London.

Vast majority of London’s Muslims are socially conservative, anti-racist and pro-Palestine.

Laila is a secular Zionist of a racist Islamophobic Zionist party.

Reform has buried any chance to win with her.pic.twitter.com/ozePBjhaj4

— Dilly Hussain (@DillyHussain88) January 10, 2026

There’s another problem too; namely that Cunningham is a Tory (one of many in Reform):

An ex Conservative councillor who had to resign from the CPS for breaking impartiality rules is just the person we need to restore honour to London and kick the Uniparty out of power https://t.co/dkvHWKvuHX

— Florence Lox 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (@floboflo) January 7, 2026

Obviously it’s ridiculous for Nigel Farage to be calling out racism given his alleged history. At the same time, we’d be much better off if politicians of all stripes called out racism.

Reform may have found themselves in this position by accident, but hopefully these accidents keep happening, and the Reform coalition becomes untenable.
