Ex-Tory housing minister blames house prices on TORIES

Robert Jenrick has blamed the Tories for extortionate house prices, despite being a former Tory Housing Secretary who only recently defected to Reform.

The two old parties made housing unaffordable.

Reform is now the home for aspirational young people.

Simon has the real world experience to break the cycle of broken promises. https://t.co/bETQLedo3k

— Robert Jenrick (@RobertJenrick) February 9, 2026

Jenrick served as Housing Secretary for over two years during the previous Conservative government. And his track record as a Tory minister cannot be ignored.

During that time, he fast-tracked a £1bn development for a porn baron.

Oh dear Bobbie Boy.

You were a literal housing minister for two years under the Tories. You remember them?

One of the ‘two old parties’.

Remember? You fast tracked a £1 Billion development for a porn baron. https://t.co/kDI1LltnKm

He also came under fire over the allocation of the £3.6bn Towns Fund. The Public Accounts Committee ruled that this was “not impartial”. The fund was set up to help financially challenged towns, but a panel found it was heavily skewed towards Tory constituencies. Jenrick’s own received £25m in funding.

Useless bastard who failed miserably in a disgraceful government, switched parties and says ‘vote for me’ because he fucked up so badly in his previous job.

Utter cunt. He thinks we’re fucking stupid. https://t.co/pkFkqmmDPT

— Lord Monsieur Prepuce 🕯🇬🇧🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺 (@MPrepuce) February 10, 2026

Robert fails to mention that he was the Housing Secretary from 2019-2021.

Housebuilding stalled. Rents rose. Affordability collapsed.

Pretending this is someone else’s failure won’t wash with young people. https://t.co/ljfVN60w8A

— Tom Howard (@TomHowardASD) February 9, 2026

Jenrick also billed the taxpayer £100k in rent and council tax for a house in his constituency during the COVID lockdowns. This was despite his claim that his main family home was 130 miles away.

It seems someone has a history of straight-up bullshit — a trait that isn’t uncommon in the Tory ranks.

Short memory, Robert?

Jenrick also seems to have forgotten that he was the housing secretary less than five years ago. Either that, or he thinks the electorate is thick.

It’s nice of Reform to adopt this poor man struggling with amnesia

He’s forgotten that he’s a former Housing Secretary 🏠 https://t.co/FlKitWemm1

He also has a habit of moaning about immigration. Hilariously, he was also previously the minister for immigration.

Honest Bob @RobertJenrick would like you to know that the 2 main failings of the last government were:

Immigration + Housing.

Robert Jenrick- Minister for immigration
Robert Jenrick- Minister for Housing

I look forward to him also blaming Health too, because, guess what…? pic.twitter.com/ZRhrc7V7G2

Talk about creating your own problems. That’s often the way for Tory politicians.

Robert Jenrick is going to be in big trouble with Robert Jenrick when Robert Jenrick finds out what he’s been saying about himself https://t.co/9Ytc9V2Pbu

— Mike Norman (@SpikeNorman) February 9, 2026

Jenrick’s time as Housing Secretary was controversial. So it’s astonishing, and hilarious, that Reform is letting a former tory anywhere near power.

They’re trying to take us all for mugs — and worryingly, if they get into power, it’s going to be more of the same bullshit we had for 14 years under the Tories — only worse as Farage tries to emulate Trump.

At first glance, you might think Jenrick was finally accepting responsibility for the problem he created.

But I doubt that — because in doing so, he has admitted exactly why he and his crony pals should be nowhere near government ever again.
