THIS PODCAST CONTAINS LANGUAGE AND CONTENT SOME PEOPLE MAY FIND OFFENSIVE. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED IN THIS EPISODE ARE THE OPINIONS OF THE HOST AND GUESTS.

Welcome to series two of #ToppleUncaged!

Every week, The Canary will be bringing you a new podcast on the media landscape; hosted by me, Steve Topple.

In a special episode, I meet a sublime singer, songwriter from Jamaica. Zia Benjamin first blew onto the music scene on the Sean Paul hit Standing There. Since then, after taking a hiatus to return to journalism, she’s back with a bang. So, I caught up with her to talk about her diverse musical sound, her influences, the music industry more broadly and the growing movement of female artists coming out of Jamaica.

Enjoy!
