Morocco wins the Arab Cup after an epic match against Jordan

The Arab Cup final wrote an exceptional chapter in the history of the tournament, after the Moroccan team were crowned champion following an exciting 3-2 victory over Jordan in extra time. The dramatic match was held at Lusail Stadium in front of a crowd of nearly 85,000 fans and high-level officials.

Arab Cup: an early goal threw a spanner in the works

The Moroccan team did not wait long to impose its rhythm, surprising Jordan with a world-class goal in the first minute.  Oussama Tannane scored from a bold shot hailing from the middle of the pitch, finding the back of the net and giving Morocco an early psychological advantage in one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament.

Jordan came out for the second half with a different spirit and managed to equalise in the opening minutes with a well-organised attack that ended with a precise header inside the penalty area from Ali Olwan.

Jordan continued to press high, turning the game around with a second goal from a penalty kick, with Olwan the scorer again.

VAR saves Morocco in the dying moments

The Moroccan team refused to give up and pushed forward in the final minutes, before managing to score a second equaliser in stoppage time in the second half. Abderrazzaq Hamdallah has his goal reviewed by VAR – and in an instant, the stands were ignited as the match was brought back to square one, forcing both teams into extra time.

In the first half of extra time, Morocco capitalised on their physical superiority and mental focus, with Hamdallah scoring again after a coordinated attack that ended with a decisive touch inside the penalty area.

Despite repeated attempts by the Jordanian team in the second half of extra time, relying on crosses and attacking pressure, the final touch was missing, and Morocco maintained its lead until the final whistle.

A final worthy of Arab football

The final in Lusail brought together all the elements of modern football: early goals, a comeback, decisive technical interventions, tactical battles, and decisive details.

A well-deserved Moroccan victory, an honourable Jordanian performance, and a night of football that will remain one of the most beautiful nights of the Arab Cup.
