THIS PODCAST CONTAINS LANGUAGE SOME PEOPLE MAY FIND OFFENSIVE

Venezuela is currently in the headlines. But the mainstream media narrative isn’t always as it seems. Much of the coverage has been skewed against president Nicolás Maduro and his government.

So, Canary journalist and broadcaster Steve Topple spoke to international journalist and trailblazer Max Blumenthal. He is currently on the ground in Venezuela, observing the political, economic and social situation. In an overarching, must-listen interview, Topple and Blumenthal discuss the current crisis, what ordinary citizens in Venezuela are saying and the torrid history of US-led corporate interventionism.

It’s essential listening:

Presented, produced and edited by Steve Topple.

Sound engineering by Gav Pauze.
