Nigel Farage is keeping his £73,000 EU Pension. And thanks to Brexit, you’ll be paying for it. [VIDEO]

Despite campaigning for Britain to leave the European Union, Nigel Farage says he would keep his £73,000 a year EU pension. The UK taxpayer will pick up the cost in the so-called Brexit Divorce Bill.

The Pension

The basic state pension for UK citizens is currently £6,359 a year (£122.30 per week). And the pension age was recently moved to 66, rising to 67 in 2026. But Nigel Farage could take his EU pension at 63, with £73,000 a year paid for by the UK taxpayer.

As The Times reports:

Hypocrisy

Representatives of the press, politics and regular voters accused the former UKIP leader of hypocrisy for taking the bloated pension. The move appeared rather at odds with his repeated criticism of overpaid EU bureaucrats using the taxpayer as a cash cow.

The decision comes amid more bad news on Brexit, as border talks on Ireland reached a dead end. As Theresa May heads to Brussels with no deal and no leverage, at least Farage has his own financial security locked down. Thanks to UK taxpayers.
