Green Party deputy finally addresses shock ‘pruning-for-profit’ allegations

At long last, Green Party deputy leader Mothin Ali has addressed shocking allegations.

‘What allegations’, you ask?

Specifically, this:

Now let’s return to Bindel’s ‘chop it for profit’ tweet about Mothin Ali:

Presumably this would mean he flipped the house. If it doesn’t mean that, it’s unclear how he would ‘profit’ from cutting the trees down?

We googled how trees affect property value, and every result told us something like this:

Trees cost very little in terms of upkeep, but they really can do a world of good for the value of your home, especially if you have one in the front. It’s true, people like trees around houses a lot more than houses that don’t have any trees.

Additionally:

Trees add value to your home in many ways. They cool the air, reduce energy costs and make your home more pleasant. The trees also add curb appeal, making them attractive to potential buyers when you sell your house.

Trees also add value by making the property more appealing to prospective buyers who want to see green space and natural surroundings when they drive through an area. Trees can even reduce crime rates in an area because criminals tend to avoid such areas

Ignoring this, would there be any reason for us to care if he had cut the trees down?

Do the Green Party have a policy position that every homeowner must retain every tree in their garden?

And if they do, what outcome are they hoping to achieve through this?

The video begins with Ali saying:

So today what I’m going to do is I’m going to show you how to cut down trees for profit. Now the tools that you’re going to need for this video are going to be some loppers or some secaturs, a chainsaw, hand chainsaw or another kind of pruning saw. And I’m going to show you how you can reap loads of profit by making these simple cuts.

Now, let’s not get it twisted.

What I’m actually talking about is pruning fruit trees.

While cutting his trees down would have lowered the value of his home, pruning them would make the garden look tidier – no doubt generating massive profits and pumping his garden stocks.

Ali ends his video by saying:

So that’s how you can prune your trees to create that abundance, to create that profit, as they like to say in the capitalist world.

Move over all you stock exchange traders; the real money’s in topiary.
