Police and ambulance called to London Bridge over claims of shots being fired
Emergency services have been called to London Bridge amid reports of shots being fired.
The Metropolitan Police said: “We are currently dealing with an incident at London Bridge. Please stand by for updates.”
The London Ambulance Service said it had crews at the scene.
BBC correspondent John McManus told BBC News that he had heard several gunshots on London Bridge.

“Just a few minutes ago I was walking across London Bridge on the south bank to the north bank of the bridge,” he said.
“There appeared to be a fight going on on the other side of the bridge, with several men attacking one man.”
Various social media users also reported hearing gunshots in the area.
One video shows what appears to be police pulling equipment out of a vehicle nearby.
Those in the video can be heard saying: “They’ve actually got guns out. They’ve got the guns out.”

I don’t believe real terrorists rampage with knives. If they can’t get hold of guns (in London?) they can certainly learn to make crude bombs. They can learn chemistry through books and the internet to find out which household/garage items can be used in a mix, and the ratios for gunpowder and how to obtain the ingredients is readily available. Initiating a bomb is said to be more difficult than making one, but they’d become bombers.
That’s why I’m suspicious of this attack. Not only is the perp dead but just as happened after Theresa May called an election last time, there’s “terrorism” afoot.
Two people reported to have been killed so far, read that members of the public tackled the man and disarmed him. Narrative in the media will now shift even more onto is Jeremy Corbyn soft on terror, pals around with terrorists etc, etc, while Boris acts tough and tommy gets called into action to mobilise the conservative youth vote, i.e angry middle aged men.
Thought that Jezza’s response was brilliant though, seemed far more genuine and heartfelt but with a very subtle observation, then paying respect by suspending campaigning. When I first heard the news I thought not again, shades of 2017, just hope there isn’t any more attacks. His response.
