As John Rentoul admits he chose Boris Johnson over Jeremy Corbyn, Curtis Daly takes a look at how liberal media turned away from any hint of progressive politics. That’s why it’s vital to support truly independent media that challenges the status quo.

We know everyone is suffering under the Tories - but the Canary is a vital weapon in our fight back, and we need your support

The Canary Workers’ Co-op knows life is hard. The Tories are waging a class war against us we’re all having to fight. But like trade unions and community organising, truly independent working-class media is a vital weapon in our armoury.

The Canary doesn’t have the budget of the corporate media. In fact, our income is over 1,000 times less than the Guardian’s. What we do have is a radical agenda that disrupts power and amplifies marginalised communities. But we can only do this with our readers’ support.

So please, help us continue to spread messages of resistance and hope. Even the smallest donation would mean the world to us.

    1. Rentoul simply stated the bleeding obvious. At least, the very least, he is now being honest long after the horse has bolted over the horizon having trampled hope into the dust. That the Grauniad, Obs and Indy columnists can live with themselves is a monument to the level of self-deception those pseudo defenders of democracy can find within themselves. It’s not possible to even mention “Forde Report” on their websites without the ‘moderators’ stepping in. So thanks Canary and others.

    2. There is a reason multi-millionaires by newspapers. The establishment have controlled the narrative for the last two centuries. We have a press that is more concerned with fawning over the monarchy and who’s going to appear on Strictly than exposing greed and lies of the establishment and their facilitators.
